It can go ahead and schnitt in Port Aransas, or anywhere else.  Just so it doesn't do that here!   :sadness:

City is already in panic mode.  The usual runs on water and toilet paper are under way, even though this is only supposed to be for a few days.  The state's failure to keep the grid running a few years ago weighs on everyone around here and not many trust them completely to keep it going this time, either.  I think a lot of people who routinely go through winter storms don't quite understand how bad it is when those storms hit a place like this that doesn't normally see and is not equipped or prepared for them. This is a result of that global warming, right?

I found my parka and mukluks, by the way!   :disturbed:

Being old and cold is a fine reason to procrastinate.  Not like I do that or anything... :icon_lol:

Wow, Menards. Brings back a lot of memories. Like spending 3 hours going through AC2 2x8s & 2x6s to find enough straight ones to build a 12' by 35'deck. Most of their lumber was bonfire grade...

Yesterday was nice though. Supposed to get a good snow tonight before the roller coaster starts its downhill run. Can't wait to initiate procrastination mode.

I have been lazy since my mid 30s about the middle of Nov, about when the temps started to drop to where it wasn't comfy to be out, and found a lot of excuses to procrastinate on doing stuff.  It was mostly unimportant like a lot of fence maintenance, vehicle repair and corral cleaning.  You know, stuff no one who is blind, and maybe deaf would not notice. Some turned into real projects, that were still ignored, because well, I have become good at procrastination. Yesterday rolled around and was the 1st really nice day in long time, so of course I try and cram 3 weeks of jobs into one day to get ready for the coming blistery cold.  For some reason everything hurts this morning, I got about 2 weeks worth done though.  :thumb:

For starters, the bulls got to pushing and fighting last winter and broke off 6 or 7 several apparently rotted railroad ties in the corral that have probably been there like 75 years or more.  I don't know if you have ever had to dig out a broken off post, especially a RR tie, but that's is one job I hate, I mean haaaaate.  I have been picking away digging them out, one by one for like 3 months now, finally before Xmas I got the posts reset.

I bought some used oak ties last fall and they apparently made them heavier now. A few I could not lift, like could barely get an end up to get a chain around, WTF, that's just rude.  Then last week I went and bought some 2x8s from Menards (a chain store like Home depot), that felt a lot like balsa, so had to double them to make them cow proof.  I thought, well that won't de so hard to handle right?  Well yeah, but nailing into the those fricken concrete like posts, not so much.  It was warm enough I think I sweated beating the poor nails until the post or I relented, it was close, but I think I won. The board are on the posts ready for cows to show how wrong I am about "cow proofing" anything. (And they wonder why they get ate)

Anyway, back to a regularly scheduled whining about the cold.

We're forecast the same, Buckaroo. Down as far as -20°Sunday & Monday mornings.

Nothing like we used to get in NW MN, but yeah, bad enough.

Well this is going to be fun.  We have had a about a couple inches of snow that just won't go away for a bout a week now despite highs in the 30s, when it melts even a little we get a snow shower to top it off.

This coming few days is going to get interesting, going to get near 50 Thursday, so I expect it to get muddy since it has not really been wet yet, then the bottom falls out, 36 and snow again Friday, but Sat 15/-10, Sun 7/-15 Mon 13/ 0 for highs and lows, all those days accompanied by 15 mph breezes.  At least we get above freezing again Tuesday supposedly.

Its winter, it happens, but I hate this part of the dead mosquito season.

I tried, Honcho.  Really, I did.  But the last three letters always keep coming out "itt...."

Heater is fixed.  Turned out to be a bad circuit breaker.  And I got a new multimeter out of the deal when my old one finally gave it up.  That one had a Radio Shack label on it.

Sun is out, 51 degrees.  :icon_mrgreen:

You are pretty close in German, just draw it out and use angry voice "Schnee!"
