Normally this time of year temps below zero (sometimes well below) and we have 2 to 3 feet of snow.... Yesterday over 50 , no snow, but we got rain!! We had one cold snap back in november for a couple of days, but it has been unusually, and pleasantly mild since then..

50+ here too, Nony. I have a feeling that when winter comes it's going to result in a very deep frostline and some frozen water pipes.

We went over 65 yesterday, had the accompanying 20 mph wind, but still was pretty nice over all, thats ending today, highs in the 40 and showers and its supposed to go down hill with storm coming in every 2 or 3 days now.

Currently 70 degrees here, it's supposed to rain tonight.  The weather guessers say there is a "robust" winter storm heading this way.  Hopefully, it stops in Dallas so I can have another weekend of sunshine.

the yo-yo has started....up around 50 degrees for a couple of days...something like 10 right now with a 50 knot wind...a couple of days like that, then up to 35 for a couple of days, then they say snow by the weekend..........

Onepoint

Its been nice here for the most part, even when we had a couple fronts move through they missed the forecast, no snow showers, nothing, even temps stayed up in the 40 and warmed from there.
Until today anyway :disgust: Windchill is around zero, and we hit our high about midnight they say, going to fall from there.

Which figures, I just got my Xmas present ready after waiting for a receiver to come.

Looks like Wayne left the back door open again.  Winds gusting to 30 here this morning, will only get to 50 for a high and supposed to be in the 20s by the weekend.  Y'all can keep that ssssnnn.......ssssssssnnnn......well, you know.

Oooh!  Cermark Fantasy Racer!  :notworthy:  Let me know how it flies - I might want one...... :icon_mrgreen:

Thanks for everyone's help (anoymously, of course...)... temperatures are now down to 30 below with wind chills to 40 below and snow has blanketed everything...and more to come...

Well, it is our turn in the basket. Projected 8-12 inches of snow for tomorrow. We did have a good run of weather going. Now, if I can avoid the idiots who don't know how to drive in the snow, life will be good.

now.... you know that is not going to happen Frank.. People live on the left coast to avoid the snow, therefore have no skills for dealing with same...  (BTDT !)

Plumbers are making their money this year. -22 this morning and there's less than an inch of snow on the ground. So far so good for us, but if this cold is sustained for any length of time, the money I don't have to put a new roof on the house is going to become money I don't have to bury new water lines...

balsum fractus

okay, I'm thawed out now..... out of the cold snap and up above the freezing mark for the upcoming week...that means everything will melt during the day, then freeze again overnight...should be interesting driving....

How is everyone else coping?

Onepoint

Man we really have not had much for cold snaps, just branch snaps from the wind.  We had some 75mph gusts a couple times, I had stuff flying that I thought would never fly.  :eek5:
