And I am a sissy.

Last Friday I had calves out, so I was chasing them on the ATV, in the tall grass I missed seeing the side of the drain ditch and rolled the ATV off of it.   I sort of bailed off, (probably looked a lot like jello sliding off a plate that was tipped) but managed to clear enough of it to keep from being pinned in the bottom of the ditch.  I landed on the dirt bank opposite side (its a deep V ditch about 7' deep right there), must have had a protrusion of dirt where the cows walked a trail, and my ribs took the impact on it, and bruised themselves.  I should be thankful, but I think they are probably the most painful thing to hurt.

Lessons learned-

I bounce less each year.

Bouncing hurts more.

I am a terrible patient, and this is as bad as any man cold.

apparently, the ribs attach to every muscle in the body.

Wow!  So glad you weren't hurt much worse.  14 year old boy in Eastland TX, about 40 miles from us died last week in a 4 wheeler accident. Rolled it over and it landed on top of him and he couldn't get out from under it.

Onepoint

Yeah every couple years someone dies around here too. My old ATV was small enough I could move it, this new one weighs like 800 lbs, and I could not budge it.

Well, I ain't dead yet, the Darlin' Bride is watching me too close. But after 30+ years in the painting business and 50 years of Marlboros and Macanudo Ascots (my last of either was on 12/13/14), my doc has officially diagnosed me with emphysema and found an "unidentified node" in the lower right chamber of my lungs.

I refuse to go down in one of them self-lifting chairs...

What does that mean? they going to do a biopsy or just watch it?

My frickin ribs still hurt, but it must be better because I'm doing more for the same amount of pain.

Not sure, the diagnosis was via a phone call and follow up appointment on the 29th. They sure didn't sound very concerned, not that it means anything. Terrin freaked out for a couple hours but calmed down. Maybe I have a mental problem, but I've never gotten too worked up over my own well-being. Not a fatalist, mind you, but I figure that if YOLO is real, I'm certainly not gonna waste any of mine stressing the small stuff...😉

There, ya see? I feel more for you because you have things to get done and a work-affecting injury. Me, I get a little short of breath now and then. No O² tank, no rescue inhalers. At "our age" however, recovery seems to take longer every time we get an owie...BTW, did anyone suggest an x-ray?

Onepoint

I thought about it, but what are they going to do? Give me pain pills and say to take it easy until it heals.

Anyway, if it doesn't go beyond "a little short of breath" you're golden being ancient and all.  :icon_biggrin:  Still, keep us apprised.

stetto

Will do, Buckaroo. If they decide to stick one of those 14 guage needles in my chest you may even hear me scream a little!

Medical gauntlets suck. They put me on Brez-tri, but I developed a heavy cough and a 10 cup o' coffee jitteryness. Trying a new one today, Symbicort, more expensive and *SURPRISE!* It's made by the same manufacturer. Can't win, right?

Anyhow, since seeing the PA, I'm being rushed through a thyroid sonogram and a heart CT, because she saw "calcium" on both in the lung scan.

The Industry is making some coin on this ol' boy, I tell you WHAT!

More updates to come. Terrin is feeling terrorized.

I have no idea what you just said, but it sounds bad.   :sadness:

I guess I can quit whing about my still sore ribs.

Well, I couldn't say on the thyroid thing, they'll call this week.

The hearts scan is for plaque & hardening, which sometimes means a Stent. I just don't want no more pharma in my body.

Ribs STILL hurt? Dayamn, you are old...

Onepoint

Yeah, thought I was healing up pretty good until I tried stacking some bales that fell, guess not.

Hope that both of you old farts are doing well. Been lucky here so far.  Nuthing rong with mee essept four sum mentul tissues....

Onepoint

Well I don't like this old man body thing, give me my old young one back.

And as I have been informed multiple times any mental issues are not age related.

I still haven't heard from anyone in the industrial medical complex regarding the scan and sonogram a week ago, but I got a call from the doc's robot on Saturday saying my new prescription had been submitted. Didn't say what it was for or what kind of drug.

This morning I get a call from same robot saying it is imperative I schedule another scan, of what and for what wasn't communicated. So I call the doc, get an office plebe who knows less than I do...

So I'm waiting for a callback.

...and yes, I hurried up to wait...🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
