Nony, where are you brother? Just went and checked you haven't been on here since last February.  Let us know you're ok.

Onepoint

He has a Facebook account, I messaged but he never replied, maybe he's mad at me?  :sadness:

What do you know Stetto?

stetto

No more than anyone else, Carl.

His absence is pretty darn curios...and worrying.

Hey!, Nony finally got back to me on Facebook, says he is fine, just rearranged some life priorities. I urged him to stop in and say hi.

Here I am.  Thanks for the concern guys.... New tablet, lost passwords, other distractions, etc etc etc.....

Everything is fine here....if you don't count the foot of snow we have had in the past day or so.....deep freeze is comin' too!

Got hooked up with a seniors group that is very, very, very active.....skiing, cycling, golf, hiking, cross country skiing, and travelling. These folks put any notion of aging to rest.....they just don't stop.....always go! Go! Go!.  130 members are over 80. One gal just turned 100 and still skis! Another fella is 95+ and still hits the mountain resorts. Artificial joints, stokes, etc don't slow them down any! So, I got swept up in this new found energy and zest......

And got into bbq in a big way as well with a pellet smoker (I may have mentioned this before) Lots of time spent prepping the meat, and monitoring the smoking process.........and, of course, consuming the resulting yumminess!

There is still balsa dust in the shop, but not as much as before....

stetto

Aw Wayne, we've so missed you...Golf you say? AND barbecue?!?

Oh brother, do you need to come south! From the Buckaroo's pod to the *golf & barbecue* Springs to *at least more barbecue* Baird and on to the Humble coast is practically a straight line!

Love ya Nony, hope to see you soon!

(Oh, and Honcho, why can't I like posts anymore?)

I have heard Clint Eastwood say how he stays active, he said "You just don't let the old man in"  And I am thinking, let him in? hell, he has run me over!

Great to hear you found motivation to get active, and work off the great food.

Must have been a setting that changed when I updated the forum Stetto, see if it works now.

Mmm-boy, yes it does! 8)  8)  8)

Oh, and Nony, I'm playing 9 holes on Wednesday. First in two months!

wtxsflyr

Awesome Nony,  thanks so much for letting us know y'all are good.  Bar b que and grilling can be a very deep rabbit hole.

balsum fractus

Thanks guys...your thoughts mean more than you can imagine!

Stetto, I have not whacked a golf ball in 20+ years! Although I do own a golf cart, if that counts......

No, now I am a ski bum again.........and loving it!

Carl, I am still honing my bbq skills...it is easy to mess up and create a chunk of shoe leather. It takes time and patience to present a decently prepared cut and do it consistently. I'm getting close with ribs and chilli, but steaks are still a work in progress....

Kayla Got into cross country last winter, bought some skis and went for it. Unfortunately most of our winter was snow free last year and this, so her time was limited to when she get out and go west to the mountain trails.

But she just came home from a week long ski trip with her boyfriend and family at Keystone ski area in CO, did some downhill for the 1st time and loved it, but they also did a few days of cross country, said she has never been so tired.  :icon_lol:  I don't know, I get tired just thinking about it myself, and then I would have to detach myself from the woodstove, which some days is problematical. Hi marks for motivation Nony!

Just a note to carnivores, if you ever get a chance to get Jersey cross or straight Jersey beef, don't balk, we have been eating that for the last 10 years or so, and it is hands down the best beef we have had.

wtxsflyr

Right after we bought our place, I bought a 300 pound jersey cross steer.  Fed him for a year, and then had him butchered.  1400+ pounds at 15 months old.  And you are correct, phenomenal beef.  Been looking for another, but no luck as of yet.

Nony!  Good to hear you're ok!

Bring that cookin' talent of yours down to Texas.  It's warmer here and we could always use more barbeque!  You can ski on the freeway ramps when it schnitts here every ten years or so... :disturbed:
