Title: Where is everyone?
Post by: jetmex on March 24, 2011, 09:15:54 AM
Just got back from Florida, so I've been off the radar for the past week.  How's everyone?

Spring has sprung here, back to pine pollen and yard work.  There was a cold front last night, dropped the daytime temps from 80 to 78.  Not sure how we survived that....

Well between getting sick with the flu, and trying to do that spring time farming thing its been hectic around here.  I did mange to break the forum for a little bit though in my spare time.

Its been in the 60s, and when its not blowing 60 as well, I have been flying a little bit when I get the chance.

Makes me mad, last night I replaced a receiver in the Art-tech Edge 540 so I could use some exponential, swapped a servo lead and promptly chewed up the wing when the motor took off and suck the wing into it.  :eusa_doh: :eusa_wall:

Fortunately I found a parts outlet and ordered another one.  Dang that just ticks me off though.

...it just won't quit!!! Winter, that is.

...warms up a tiny bit to start the melt and slush thing, then it starts snowing again...

....and one of the local radio stations has changed its playlist (at least for this weekend) to reflect the never ending winter...
Have a listen:

Pretty much the usual here. We were well into the warmup and got another 10 inches of snow. Them over in Fargo are crying about another flood. I'm working on the neverending remodel and getting ready to turn the living room into a concert hall (first show May 7, Ronny Cox will be here on October 8, I figured that would give you guys time to plan  :disturbed: ). Other than that I'm trying to avoid the inevitable; another bone-fuse in the neck department.

Oh hey, other than a bullet behind the ear, do any of you guys know how to get a cat to quit pissing and sh!tting behind the furniture in the living room? We have 4 cats, but only one has the nasty little habit...

Mint oil, seems they don't like it. They sell a thing that scares them away from things you don't want them near called SSScat, compressed air in a can on a motion sensor, extremely satisfying to hear go off.  Try changing cat litter type in the cat box, or putting one where they are going and see if they get used to it and then move it.  And of course kick them like a football.

If they are going in the same spot all the time, it may be a smell thing, try getting some of the smell enzyme stuff and lay something over it, like cardboard.

I would put on a couple pair of gloves, an undershirt, t-shirt, short sleeve shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, coat, insulated coveralls, stocking hat, fencing helmet, and army boots, and grab that cat and rub its nose in the inflicted area on the carpet, then gently toss the cat in the litterbox pretending you are fi jamma slamma a basketball.

ps  I was listening to the comedians on xm while I was out in the tractor breaking out crp yesterday.  Jeff Foxworthy was on, and said when he was a kid and pets had a problem, THEY RAN AWAYYYYYY.

psps  I like cats.  Honcho might be onto something as sometimes certain brands of cat litter hurt their feet, or they dont like the "texture" of it.

The problem is that this is my favorite of the bunch, Frank. So docile, so affectionate, rolls over for a belly scratch, just like a dog. In fact he hangs out with the dogs more than the other cats.

I was checking the corner this morning and he walks up to me and squats. What the h*ll? So I gave him a swift one, a "knee-jerk" reaction...And he just stands there, doesn't run, doesn't hiss, doesn't nuthin'. He looks at me for a couple seconds and casually walks away.

The bastige is mental.

He is also LARGE. Weighs in at about 20 pounds or more.

Gonna try the mint oil, but the horn won't do any good. He is unfazeable.

...Maybe a collostomy bag... :eek5:
