Title: Mistery Solved!!!
Post by: stetto on October 17, 2016, 06:22:13 AM
There's apparently been some controversy over the years as to the true location of the fictional towns of Hooterville, Pixley and Crabwell Corners. From Tennessee to California to Pennsyvania, people have tried to figure it out. I just solved it, by simply watching the first episode of Petticoat Junction. In this episode the board of the CF&W railroad are admiring a regional map covered with train routes, when Homer Bedloe notices an unconnected spur that hasn't been noticed by the company for 20 years. The location of this spur on the map?

About 50 miles west of Laramie Wyoming.

All the experts claim there was no way to know where Hooterville was. They apparently never took the initiative to watch Petticoat Junction....

Heh, I had to check that out, but if that's in WY, I am most definitely voting in the wrong district.  Looks more like it would be in Indiana or Illinois.  Besides if that episode it shows the elevation of Hooterville as 1427', so probably not 40 miles west of laramie. :)
