A somewhat frozen, but Merry Christmas to everyone!! If anyone is going to be deprived of a white Christmas, we have plenty of snow...it coming down like crazy right now and has been for the last two days. So if anybody wants some snow - free, gratis...I know where you can get some at a real good price......

Thanks for the offer Nony. I think we'll be good though. Supposed to get the Big One Xmas Eve thru Saturday. There are more differing depth predictions than dents in a hayfeeder, anywhere from "maybe" an inch to as much as 14. We get what we get. Maybe no Over the River and Through the Woods for us this year.... :'(

But hey, merry Christmas and all the trappings that implies to you fine Fubarians...Roger, I'm so glad you'll have Joyce home--Hugs from us...

Heh, yeah, I think you sent it already nony, 6" over the next couple days, with no degrees and some wind thrown in for good measure.  I'm sure it will be pretty for Xmas, pretty dang cold that is.

Here's wishing everyone a merry xmas, and a great new year.

Our temps have been in the mid to upper 40's with the screaming drizzles.  :'(
No white stuff in the forecast.

It isn't early any more!

Merry Christmas to all of you!  Hope y'all get to spend it with family and friends.

It stormed pretty hard last night here.  The power coming back on woke me up this morning.  Temp is a windy 52 right now, and it's supposed to be clear and really cold (upper 20's) tonight.  You can close that door any time now, Nony!!   :icon_mrgreen:

The forecast changed last night. They decided that 14" wasn't enough to panic the herd, so they upped it to 18-25"...We have maybe 3" on the ground this morning and it has stopped snowing for now. These sensationalists are trying to make me angry, and I won't play their silly game...

But yeah, it's Xmas Eve and I'm all a-twitter. Not one gift wrapped, not but one batch of cookies baked, we may wind up at Grammy's after all, though I have bread rising for the garlic toast that will go with my traditional Lasagna Eve dinner...Ham tomorrow...

Merry merry!

Heh, sounds like us, they were making it sound like the Apocalypse of storms coming, so everyone held off making food in case no one could get here.  Then had clear skies and maybe 3" this morning,  so we are all anticipating doing the whole Xmas thing tomorrow instead.  Thats hard for the  kids to have to wait a whole nuther day, but I guess I will live.   :disturbed:

Got this by email...seems appropriate for this crowd

Quote'Twas the night before Christmas & out on the ranch

The pond was froze over & so was the branch.

The snow was piled up belly-deep to a mule.

The kids were all home on vacation from school,

And happier young folks you never did see-

Just all sprawled around a-watchin' TV.

Then suddenly, some time around 8 o'clock,

There came a surprise that gave them a shock!

The power went off, the TV went dead!

When Grandpa came in from out in the shed

With an armload of wood, the house was all dark.

"Just what I expected," they heard him remark.

"Them power line wires must be down from the snow.

Seems sorter like times on the ranch long ago."

"I'll hunt up some candles," said Mom.  "With their light,

And the fireplace, I reckon we'll make out all right."

The teen-agers all seemed enveloped in gloom.

Then Grandpa came back from a trip to his room,

Uncased his old fiddle & started to play

That old Christmas song about bells on a sleigh.

Mom started to sing, & 1st thing they knew

Both Pop & the kids were all singing it, too.

They sang Christmas carols, they sang "Holy Night,"

Their eyes all a-shine in the ruddy firelight.

They played some charades Mom recalled from her youth,

And Pop read a passage from God's Book of Truth.

They stayed up till midnight-and, would you believe,

The youngsters agreed 'twas a fine Christmas Eve.

Grandpa rose early, some time before dawn;

And when the kids wakened, the power was on..

"The power company sure got the line repaired quick,"

Said Grandpa - & no one suspected his trick.

Last night, for the sake of some old-fashioned fun,

He had pulled the main switch - the old Son-of-a-Gun!
