Title: That time of year again
Post by: Onepoint on May 29, 2022, 11:06:23 AM
Unfortunately, the odd combination of dry cool weather has created ideal condition for bugs, especially alfalfa weevils. I have sprayed more the last few years than ever it seems.

At least I get an airshow out of the deal.  Cows were not impressed despite having box seats.

We need video's,  love watching dusters!  Neighbor hired a helicopter a couple of weeks ago to spray weeds in his fields.

Me too. I kinda like the phat Air Tractors with the phat radials, but that second airfoil does Trump my druthers!

How'd he miss that hay feeder?

Sadly, there aren't many phat radials left.  The turboprops are cheaper to operate and more reliable, not to mention that radial engine parts are getting hard to come by.  Even rarer are the guys who know how to work on them.

My oldest son mentioned the other day that most of the airplanes I worked on are either in museums or boneyards....
