Title: What happens when you get bored...
Post by: jetmex on July 22, 2009, 06:51:24 AM
So, after the great Bomber Field tank battle, I got the itch to try out one of the tanks.  So I went to the recommended website and found that a fully equipped 1/16 scale Tamiya Tiger was going to set me back about a grand  :eek5:  Not only am I a little short of that amount, but the better half would have me in the doghouse for an extended period of time.

I forgot about it until someone mentioned that Airsoft (they make pellet guns) had RC tanks.  So I looked around and found this:

And now I'm looking at it sitting on the shelf above me. And the best part is, it shoots 6mm airsoft pellets!  I have had no end of joy chasing the cats out of my yard with it, and none of the neighborhood kid's RC cars even approach this thing for cool factor.  It came with everything I needed to go to war, some assembly required.  Of course, I couldn't leave well enough alone, so it got weathered and had some little details added.

I'm contemplating a second one so David and I can battle for control of the 'hood....... :icon_wink:

Is that in Minnesota??  :icon_mrgreen:

You realize that if we do invade, we'll have to claim all the land taken for the State of Texas.....

Enjoy it while it still works..... unfortunately, quality is somewhat less than hobby grade. Most of the ones that go out the door of our shop come back as defective. Still some fun to be had for $65!!
