Weird, seems like it was just last year about this time.
Not much going on for us, I spent most of the day raking and baling so far, have a severe thunderstorm watch and dark skies to the west. But hopefully it will hold off to shoot some fireworks. Hope you all have a good one!
Happy 4th to you, Honcho, and all the Fubarians!
Off to daughter's place a little later for food and fireworks. Oldest son just moved back to Houston from Florida, so my whole mob is all in one place for the first time in a long time.
Cooked a rack of ribs on the pit, Billie Sue made homemade yeast rolls, potato salad, and baked beans! Had a nice little shower roll through, dropped .06" of rain, and dropped the temp about 25 degrees.
Heh, well we had about a 1/2" so far this afternoon and evening so far and still raining, had a tornado north of us that crossed the border, I never saw it. We dropped about 25 degrees also, but we started at 80, coolest wettest spring / early summer I can remember. Have to postpone fireworks until tomorrow.
I hope you got all the fireworks you wanted, Honcho. Someone around here made a trip to Wyoming with a few 18 wheelers. It went nonstop here in our corner of the Springs from 6 o'clock till 1 am here, starting right after a storm blew through with 1" hail. LOTS of hail. If this keeps up my pepper yield will be nil this year.
All considered it was a pretty great day. Met a bunch of neighbors and we now find ourselves in the Cimarron Hills Beer Share Network.
On to the next event!
Hope you guys had a good one.
Being retired, every day is a holiday for me.......just have to convince the wife of that, though....
