Been a hot humid last couple of days, and now it's thundering and lightning like crazy.  No rain yet, but the weather guessers say there will be some, though no one knows how much.  Big line of storms just went southwest of us, but all we got was wind and noise.

I'll send some rain mojo your way as well, Honcho...

The new label I've been hearing is "super" el niƱo, AFAIC just another "scientific" word these weather people made up to promote credibility among themselves. We're in part of a natural cycle that's popular to blame on causes other than natural forces.

That said, we in the Luling area vascilate between hot and humid and hot and dry, though every morning is consistently foggy and dew saturated. When any big storms blow through we don't get what neighbors 20 miles in any direction are getting, my theory being that we're in a low spot between the San Marcos and the Plum rivers. When 3+ inches are forecast we get an inch, more often a tenth of one.

A series of hit-and-miss downpours are forecast for the end of this week, followed by 2 months of simply hot.

Gonna be fun  :disturbed:

I do try to send what precip mojo I can your way, Honcho. Hope it helps... :eusa_angel:

We have been getting sprinkles amid some getting downpours, not sure I really want that, 2 miles west a thunderstorm rained so hard it flooded a pen full of cattle and it ran across the road off a hay field, we got .05" from it, but we did get one that gave us an actual 2/10, grateful for even that, more grateful we missed the 3/4 hail they got with it.

I have never seen what is going on around here though. field after field are not being planted, hardly any sugar beets, fields that have been corn are still bare, or have been planted in sorghum, Many hay fields are drying up instead of growing, our ditch isn't to come in for another 3 weeks, and there are field that will produce nothing until they get irrigated, this that are will produce 2/3 to half of normal. We may have a good 2nd cutting, but sometimes when dry like this its almost dormant and take a good while to start growing again.

I read reports and watched videos of it all across the western and plain states. Corn planting is being reduced, east where they don't irrigate and have planted its not growing.  Wheat crop here is decimated, surveys say just over 50% in a 5 state area is at poor to very poor condition, meaning it will likely not make wheat, many are tilling it under already, some are grazing it. None of this means much, until late summer and fall for most people when then prices will spike as contracts are left unfulfilled.

No one has seen this since the dust bowl, and heck no one is alive that can appreciate that so its new for us all. I suspect we will see many more things we never have in our lives if this persists, especially if this nation wide drought doesn't break this coming winter.

I appreciate the support guys, but I'll say this much: though it was a pretty rough January, February and March, I'm doing great with the knowledge that my friendship with Terrin is still as stout as it ever was, and there's no sign of that changing. Ill take that over losing her completely.

So yeah, huge adjustment period ongoing, and I have moments now and then, but the Stettoman is good, and slowly moving forward...although yeah, I'm too old for this sh*t  :disturbed:

Oh, and the PuddinFace is pulling a dammed 4.0 in college!!!

Loaded more "belongings" at the wife's today. One trip left: gun safe, pellet grill, a bunch of those costco rolling wire shelves, an odd, an end. Feels pretty darn final...

I also have a bulk of R/C modeling inventory, kits, props, servos, props, tools, props, engines, props, engines and a GREAT many sundry parts, too much to list. Lots of Duke Fox's stuff, diesel and glow. Some of these have never been run. It's all gotta land somewhere... :eusa_doh:
