Rained for about fifteen minutes early this morning.  Then the sun came out and turned this place into a sauna.  Around 2 this afternoon, it rained again and now it's sunny again.  90 degrees and really soggy outside.

We are still dry, but it is some what humid at least for a bit, mid 50% compared to 30%s we have been running, but yesterday we barely hit 70, today is supposed to be mid 60s, and no rain. Weird weather this year continues.

They had to close a pass in NW WY because it snowed so much, but they have had winter all along over on that side of the state, the eastern slope seems to have skipped it, along with spring as far as wet goes.

No fires here, still too wet!

Temps have been in the mid 90s all week.  With the humidity, the heat indexes are ranging from 102-109. There are a gazillion Europeans here for the world cup soccer matches and they're all slowly dying of heat exhaustion.  I guess no one bothered to tell them about Houston in the summer.

More rain forecast for early next week.

And now the new improved fire season is here. I don't know what its burning exactly, because all the grass is short and sparse that I have seen.

There is a monster fire that grew 20k acres in one night after starting in the northern pan handle of NE just on the city limits of Crawford, had multiple evacuations including a retirement home and historic Ft Robinson. Now at 32k acres, but they are making progress, with 40% containment now with air tankers running nonstop.

Yesterday I went to Cheyenne, and missed a grass fire by minutes apparently along US85, blew up to 400+ aces in a couple hours, but they managed to contain and get it burned out. This morning there is another one close, smoke is drifting in right now, but have not heard from where.

Picked up .6" yesterday evening, came with a little hail, but I'll take it. Mostly were in the seam between cells, which was a good thing, I read reports of 2 to 3" in just minutes, had flash floods crossing highways and county roads, people stranded, large hail and tornadoes. Most a little east of us, but a couple were west.  I was watching radar reports of estimated rain fall rates, some of it was in the 20" per hour area. 'Tis the season I guess.

Hit & miss t-storms today. First hit was a very quick 9/10s inch.

When the sun shines again they claim it'll feel like 103°.

We hit 101 for most of the afternoon yesterday, sun was intense.  We get a break now, today will be low 80s, maybe mid 90s tomorrow, then 80s for a while and chance of thunderstorms.

I cut about 5 acres of hay, made 1 1/2 round bales, had to rake 3 windrows together, and still was grinding it up rolling in the baler almost as fast as I was picking it up.  Not good.  Some will be better, but worrisome for sure.

At least the cloud cover here is keeping the temps down, but the humidity is off the the charts.  It stayed dry enough today to get the yard done, but it's still pretty soupy on the east end of my back yard.  87 here right now.  Rain should be moving out and we'll be in the mid 90s next week.

Damn, you getting a regular homestead going there!  For a second, I thought the little fence thing was your outdoor shower.... :icon_lol:  :icon_mrgreen:

Staying busy always helps keep your mind off things.  Sorry you have to be going through all this, amigo.  You know you can shout at me any time.

I have a whole garage full of RC stuff.  Not nearly as many props, though.  :disturbed:
