Tuesday gonna be nice as well.  we supposed to have 45-50 mph winds, 2-4 inches of snow, and a high of 18 and go to -4 tues night.  Sounds like all of us having great weather.

Hate to look at onepoints weather.. they usually 5-10 degrees colder than we are.

It has literally been dead calm here for over a week. 11 degs for high/low, light fluffy, fat flakes have been falling for three days...

Now they say tell us to expect 35-40 mile/hr winds tomorrow, and maybe another inch or two. OK kids, let's put 2 & 2 together...

11 degrees (that'd be Farhren-height, for you furriners... :icon_wink: )
A couple inches of loose snow already on the ground
Wind 'sposed to "pick up" tomorrow to a light gale
Even more loose snow

So if these things all come together at the same time, naturally all of us here know what would be the result...

Local weather says NUTHIN'.

It'll be fun to see when, IF this does come to pass, all these local buffoons start making the standard excuse that the NWS never told THEM about it. (local guys are quick to take credit for correct predictions)

One of my favorite quotes from a local weatherman on channel 6 about three years ago, after a huge squall line line came though that no on predicted and smashed up a bunch of little towns;

"Gee, I guess we didn't see THAT comin'!"

Well we have had -20 windchill for about 20+ hours now.  AT least I don;t have to try an acclimate between night and day temps, they varied about 5 degrees is all. Been snowing lightly since Sunday and have about 6" but its starting to blow around some.  Lots of fun, not supposed to get much better until about Thursday they say.

Supposed to be in 60s this afternoon.  Otherwise, gray and misty.

Onepoint

Someone post they were colder than us, -21 and about -33 windchill.  :errrr:

balsum fractus

Dang, sorry no.... we were only -19  with a -25 windchill............

I'd be huddled around that woodstove all day if I were you.....

Onepoint

Man  I would be, if the cows would feed themselves and unfreeze the waterers.  As it is I think the majority of time will be spet around it anyway.

Sorry Honcho, not colder than you here, but colder than usual...31 last night and it's about 38 now.  Above zero.

Supposed to be back into the 70s by Sunday.  Y'all can keep that snnnn.......ssssssssn.......ssssnnnn.....that white stuff.

Whooooo doggies .. our water well froze up this morning.  Man I hate when that happens.   :eusa_think:  It never happens in the summer when its not so cold to go out and work on it.  NOOOOoooooooooo  its always when its cold and windy :eusa_snooty:

Aw shoot Ron, you just reminded me...I was going to wrap the well "house" in bales the other day...Been mighty lucky up to now. It's been below the magic donut for a week or more, but we're too far north for the last storm to give us any more than the wind off'n it.

I helped a friend build one of those temporary garages out at his farm yesterday. As cold and windy as it was we didn't do too bad, except that frost started to form on my forehead over the spots where the titanium screws are... :eek5:

At least I have a chance to find the areas that desperately need winterizing before it actually get s cold!

Onepoint

HA, now I can gloat, we got to like 20 for a little bit yesterday...well actually it was 20/35 i.e. 20 degrees and 35MPH, our 7 inches of snow has piled up some.  :disgust:

But at least its warming up a little which is welcome to help thaw out things so I an get a tractor started and move some snow.

Better do it quick...another blast is on its way...we are s'posed to be down to to something like 45 below with the windchill tomorrow..... brrr-rrrr-rrr-rrr-rrr

More Yankee weather today - fog with visibility about 1/10 of a mile. It's raining. But it is warming up, 52 degrees and the sun is supposed to put in an appearance tomorrow.

Being from a place where we have sunshine 360 days a year, I don't know how you guys can handle six months of this winter stuff.

Well Murphy is alive and well ....too d*mned well, in fact..

Woke up to the coldest fricken fracken day of the year - 22 below with a windchill of 41 below. The basement is flooded 'cause the fricken fracken hot water tank let go in the middle of the night!!  No damage to anything fortunately - just a wet sloppy mess everywhere...and of course no hot water....but wait, it gets better! I have to endure the bitter reality when the two  blondes find out that they can't shower or wash their hair cuz there ain't no fricken fracken hot water!!!  Oh, the humanity!......................

Home Despot to the rescue at least, although I have to pay through the nose for emergency weekend service... Hopefully we will have hot water by tonight, and the icy glares from the two blondes will dissipate somewhat.....

One bright spot in this gloomy story is that tomorrow is going to be even colder! :errrr: :errrr:

That universal truth that makes everything the man's fault is something I'm planning to ask Roger to change after his election to emperor in 2012...If his wife will let me talk to him, that is... :disturbed:

I cleared the garage of untold tonnage of nail-filled demo related to the mold infested room in the basement today, just so Mama could get her car in tonight. Supposed to get Nony's weather nasty after midnight. Got it all done, the wife pulls into the drive, and. The. Garage. Door. Jammed.

First thing out of her mouth was "What did you do to it?"

:eusa_wall:

I will take note of your water heater anecdote and prepare myself for the consequences of what my dishwater blondes will say is "something I did"...
