Great weekend!

I'm always bummed when really good weekends come to an end.  David turned 18 last Wednesday and graduated from high school on Saturday.  Jimmy and his wife came from Florida, so all the kids were home.  We ate and laughed and had a ball for four days.  Now it's all back to normal and I miss the ruckus.

Next graduation is May 2014 when Jimmy gets his Master's. Then, hopefully in 2017 David will be done with college (the part that I'm paying for, anyway!) and then I can think about retiring.  Anyone want to adopt me?

We had a relaxed weekend from last weeks graduation festivities. It was warm and pretty nice, and I had a bad case of spring fever and was trying to avoid work like the plague.  Unfortunately the cows had ideas of eating so they had to go to grass. And I got to rototill garden spot for squash and pumpkins, so the whole avoid work and hide didn't work out so good.

I got reacquainted with a Husqvarna Rancher 455 over the weekend (I would've said "chainsaw", but the machine demands I address it formally  ), tilled the 8th acre a couple more times & got taters and some sundry vegetables planted.

...And of course, enjoyed the appearance of birds we NEVER get to see out here;









No picnics, no parades, just some good ol' fashioned catchin-up. I am sore and in serious need of a chiropractor, but it's nice being useful!

Thanks, Stetto, will do!  BTW - Husqvarna used to make motorcycles.  Do they still do that?  All those B1RD's in your yard sure make for a colorful spring.  We've got blue jays, mockingbirds and cardinals all over the place, but not much else.  I haven't seen a hummingbird in ages.  I think the mosquitos ate them all.

Honcho, I didn't have cows, but I did have a house full of teenagers for a while.  Think I'd rather have cows....

Congrats to David!   Proud moment for the Jetmex family to see an offspring reach a major milestone like that.

Up here, not a great weekend...we tried to go camping......in the pouring rain. The power converter in the trailer let go in a big puff of smoke, forcing us to abort the effort.

some good news though....Sooper pilot found himself a wonderful gal last year, and they just got engaged. (no date yet)

Congrats to your son, Wayne!  Is she an aviator type as well, or was she smart enough to stay away from those silly flying machines?

no....she is into Public Relations for a large oil company. They did however meet on an airliner...thanks to the unseen powers of seat assignment.....

..just got off the phone with a very tired pilot...two round trips to mexico in 2 days...23hours flying....but he is loving it!
