Its been pretty cold here

Last few days have been miserably cold with below zero temps and some snow around also. Wife has been at the living room window and just staring and staring. I may have to let her in soon.

I think it depends on whether it was you who put her out in the first place.

The global warmists up here are having a blast, blaming all the snow and cold (this ain't even close to cold yet) on one human cause or another, but we haven't come close to reaching any century-long records yet, and when I ask "Who caused that record snow in 1917?" they tell me I don't understand the mechanics of it all.

If we don't stop this winter, and I mean soon, we will be paying carbon credits out the wazoo!!

Then we have to worry about a wet Spring and the long, warm summer...

We had a couple weeks or so of snow and wind that piled up to 6" in places, and about 3' in the yard and corrals. Then the last 3 days have been 50 degrees, so we have that weird combination of lakes over ice. I think I will rename it FUBAR ice skating park.

So far our winter has been pretty average, temp-wise.

We have more snow than we need, but then, we were getting regular rain with amounts of 3+ inches last summer, and "they" said the pattern would likely continue through the winter. "They" were wrong, as our snowstorms, though many, haven't come anywhere near 3 inches in precipitation.

I AM, however, blowing out the drive 2-3 times a week. We're in the open, and we get 1) storm, 2) wind drifting, and 3) wind drifting, though not always in that order.

Wish I could afford a blade...

OK, it's been cold. Minus 30s, even -40 the other night. Some of our water lines froze.

I'm told by people I don't trust (weather "forecasters") that it has snowed to one extent or another every day since the winter solstice. We usually average 40 inches over an entire winter--We have 50" on the ground right now. It's going to be an interesting Spring. Or have I said that already?

I've been working on the house lately, fixing the off-plumb sins of those who went drunkenly before, and of course the table saw, circ saw, chop saw and the saw horse table are all out in the garage...Invigorating...

This was Saturday, before yet another belting. It's only January and the city of Fargo is already declaring a "flood emergency".

The stuff we got Sunday was pumelled by a good brisk wind into high concrete drifts. I was out with the Crippled Blower from 5:30 am til 10. The neighbor was out there with, of all things, a shovel...I went over and shortened his morning for him...

We are on the other hand are setting up for a drought again, unless we get it all in the spring.

Heh, that's the south side of the house, and the image changes from day to day because of the wind and wind direction. We're in wide open farmland, and the wind do be sweepin' down these plains...Even if it doesn't snow I find myself out there just about every day with the Mamby-Pamby Snowblower...We have what I estimate to be a 10-12 footer on the west side.

Speaking of blowing, moT, the Seafoam trick hasn't jarred anything loose yet--I ran it full choke for about twenty minutes, flooded 'er to a stop and let the dang thing soak overnight. I've read elsewhere that these Chinese Honda clones (and even the Hondas) will do this, ever since the EPA outlawed air/fuel mixture adjustments. Our fine, benevolent polar bear-minde government making it all better, yet again...

The temps are up a bit today (no rain yet, Nony), so I'm going to take a stab at gettin' at the little bugger's carb...'Sposed to snow again tonight and tomorrow.
