up til Friday, it has been dry which is usual for this time of year..fire bans, forest fires, but fortunately, no cities burning down yet.  That was then...... now.....well....does anyone have plans for an Arc??  need them desperately!!

About time; A good two-day soaker. We have just under 2 inches in the guage since yesterday morning, and should have another half-inch by this afternoon. My folks, about 20 miles southeast of us, have 4 already and had tennis ball size hail yesterday.

The other problem is the danged constant Wyoming 30 knot breeze we're suffering this year.

Frazz

We've had so much hot air blowing around here you'd thing the politicians were campaigning this year.
To understand true love, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and then see which one is glad to see you when you come back

Onepoint

Heh, we had our second 'shower' night before lase, about 11pm lightning was putting a world class show, and then it rained, and then it rained hard form.

So just to recap we have had since the end of Feb, about 3.8"  of rain (3.5 in the last couple weeks) and 2+ inches of hail.  Glad I am not farming and just sitting watching the grass not grow.  :disgust:

Actually other than gardens and trees, timing was OK, what little hay I had was mostly up and stacked, the young seeding like the millet and oats is so short its didn't hurt it.  But I feel for the guys with corn and especially wheat that was close to mature.  You can mark this year in the 'fun' catagory already.

We had a little rain earlier in the week, which only caused the grass to grow at an accelerated rate, rearranged the bugs on the windshield on my truck and added a few hundred percentage points to the humidity.  But it's only 92 degrees, so it's not that noticable....

Onepoint

We hit 100 yesterday, with a 20mph wind, supposed to be 5 hotter today.  Yet this morning there is a fog bank over us, go figure.

balsum fractus

hmmm....sounds like a sauna.....heat, humidity, ambiance.....all you need now is some paying customers......

Onepoint

Yeah this has been weird, yesterday it was a sauna, but the days before it was dry as a bone except for foggy mornings.

balsum fractus

It has been hotter'n'ell here all week and last night two hellacious storms rolled through....didn't cool anything down, but left lots of flooding and hail damage just to the southwest of us...

Onepoint

Its been summer here for sure, triple digits and mid to high 90s,  smoke went away finally, an d we actually have had a sprinkle or 2.  Naturally, since I have hay down.  :eusa_wall:

stetto

Huh. We got a half inch of rain and a downdraft wind two nights ago, and now I have ten 35 ft rows of sweet corn lying flat on the ground.

I hate that. More than just about anything. Hopefully some of it will recover.

Temps are moderating now, easing towards Fall. They say it will be a long, warm one. Their problem is that they're rarely if ever right...

Onepoint

We are moderating too, 102 instead of 105.  :eusa_doh:  Actually Saturday it only got to 85, and though that felt hot because the sun was intense it was nice in the morning and evening. of course Sunday was back to 95 or more and today is triples again.  Its so dry that you can't see the difference in color between grass and dirt, everything is just gray /brown that has had no irrigation.

balsum fractus

pant....pant.....pant.......wheeze....... I don't do well in hot weather.  Blazing hot during the day, then thunderstorms and torrential rains overnight......anyone want some skeeters???

stetto

Yew kin keep yer dag-nabbitted buzz-bombers there, Nony, but the rain would be a novel item. When they get a couple inches south, we get a quarter inch. When they get a couple inches north of us, we get a quarter inch...

...or nuthin'.

The only plus around here is the smallest population of mosquitos in decades, and that's nice...But the FLIES!!! :eusa_wall:

The corn is attempting to raise itself, we may get an ear or two yet.

jetmex

It rained for about thirty minutes yesterday and this morning.  Just enough to get the humidity above a thousand percent to go with the 97 degrees after the sun came out.

It did get below 80 last night, though.
