So I let her read over my shoulder, she seems to think pretty highly of my relaxing ability as it is, something about not needing much more practice, and if it paid anything I would be a top earning celebrity.  I'll just take that as a vote of confidence.

Our first snow of the season is coming down as I speak type. Got potatoes and dry beans in yesterday...

thanks for keeping it cornered down there......

balsum fractus

Okay.......................one of you southerners left your back door open, and look what escaped !!

Bring it on, Nony. Got the gear tuned up and ready. Deer season starts Saturday and we could use an inch of tracking powder...

I pulled about 36 hours over the weekend and Monday standing on rail cars for grain samples, and then woke up to about 5" of snow on Tuesday.   My conclusion is no matter how many times or how far apart I try this work stuff, it breaks the weather.  So I am going to have to stop working to save the planet I think.

Good news everybody....

Due to the generosity of mother nature, it looks like we will  once again be able to repeat the offer from last year........

We had a delivery of about 4" of that stuff, but I think the delivery guy must have broken the thermometer, it says -9 and I know we don't live above the arctic circle.

stetto

Only 5 above here...-10 tomorrow, so they say. No ice particulate deliveries expected.

OK Nony, that was pretty funny, now shut it off.  :icon_neutral:
We had a night of -10 a couple weeks ago, but it came right back to the 50s.  However the last couple days cold air moved in like pushy relatives and decided to stay a while, we got about 7" of snow (that was supposed to be 2-4 over 4 days) and 20mph wind with temps near nothing which made it a brisk and fun day yesterday. Got some new snow sculptures in the yard, which would be great if there was not vehicles under them.   And then last night old man winter must have knocked the thermostat off the shelf because we sit at -23 right now.  Even the air is too cold to move right now fortunately.   'Sposed to be this for anther 3 or 4 days and then finally heat all the way up to the 20s, maybe even 30s  :eek5:

Thank God for my chainsaw and wood stove :errrr:

stetto

We aren't that cool yet, only 3 above for a high though...Sposed to get to -23 Saturday morning.

jetmex

All the way to -23??

This is not funny.  An hour ago, it was 74 degrees.  Now it's 55 and dropping.  Would one of you northerners take care of that open door, please?   :icon_mrgreen:

frigid, freezing, cold, icy seem downright tropical compared to the temperatures outside right now......thank goodness for that gas fireplace we put in a couple of years ago... it and the (fixed) furnace are keeping the inside somewhat cozy...

It is so cold up here, the glaciers are headed south for the winter.....my complaining truck driving friend is stuck in Dallas Ft Worth which he reports is pretty much shut down due to ice.......
