It is a heat wave!  55 degrees here now, supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow.  Saw the sun today for the first time in a week.

Ice scrapers with no directions?  Do they need batteries or something?   :eusa_think:

balsum fractus

No, but they require a skilled artisan's touch to operate them..........

Onepoint

We did have heat wave yesterday, for just a little while it was 40 degrees, and it was like, wow, so this is what its like not to have snot freeze instantly in your mustache.  Of course we paid for it with another 6" and 20mph wind this morning,   a -15 or so windchill.  :P

stetto

HA! The NWS is issuing and REissuing windchill warnings on almost an hourly basis here. I sent them an email (as a taxpaying contributor to their diligent perseverance) this morning asking them if it wouldn't have saved money if they just issued ONE windchill warning in December that would expire at the end of April...

I will be really happy when this winter is over.  60 degrees yesterday, 38 and windy today.  Supposed to be close to 80 by Saturday.  The weather guessers are earning their pay this time around... :disgust:

stetto

The view out front is only aggravating the situation...

So some weather guy yesterday morning steps on his tongue and declares the End of Hostilities. Four hours later we had 35 mph straight winds and a HIGH of -4. Now another storm is due tonight.

GAD I can't wait to be smackin' mosquitos again...

Reminds me of the snow forts we used to build as kids.  But yours has a window in it! ........and probably central heating too.............

A-a-a-a-a-a-and....Blizzarding here again today.

Stetto, you moved from......uuhhhh.....Arizona??

Sun is shining today for the first time in a week.  57 degrees.  Maybe it'll stay nice enough for me to actually go outside this weekend.

Yes this is a winter, none of that mamby pamby stuff we had the last few years.  We thawed out yesterday, near 60, lot of wind, melted about everything, even most of the ice clumps from the 1st blow.   Last night we got a surprise 2" more of wet slushy stuff.  :eusa_doh:

Yeah Jaime, we moved, and just in time. We got twice what we paid for our house after just five years, and as we left the state was in the middle of being overrun by Kalifornians. Terrin's accounting business up here is growing faster than she can keep up, in AZ she'd still be working for a wage--She is happy.

I love winter; the snow, the cold (within reason, which we aren't talking about here), but the effin winds just haven't quit this time around, always from the one direction that fills our driveway with 3-4 foot drifts. I've run over 5 gallons of fuel through the blower this season, more than twice as much in any year since we moved here, and we've gotten a fraction of the snow. These drifts are slammed in so hard that you can dance on top of them but not drive over...T says I'm getting a plow truck next year, I say wishful thinking.

This week alone I've blown out the drive 4 times. We've gotten less than an inch of snow in the last two weeks. I HAVE to blow out the drive because this is tax season and a huge bidnez time for the wife. The clients need in and out. I'd be happy to lock myself in my little studio and play my guitar, but...

...The weather people here have found their own version of "Hopey-Changey". They have been predicting a warmup for the last few weeks, but ALWAYS a "week from now". It never comes. We're planning and plotting our 8th acre for the year and will be ordering seed next week, but I'm getting skeptical as to whether we get a growing season this year.

You see, one of my favorite parts of winter is Spring, and last year we didn't have one of those either...This is the first winter of my life that I've looked back fondly at swatting hordes of mosquitos...

You could have moved to Amarillo, Stetto.  No Kalifornians, horrible cold snowy windy winters, mosquitos, the Cadillac Ranch, deer out the wazoo just a few miles away and, you'd be in TEXAS!!!   :notworthy:

What's a "snow blower"?  I thought that was what the wind was for...  :icon_mrgreen:  66 degrees here now.

Sounds like a snow fence would be a good idea after all........
