They've forecast a 90% probability of "precipitation" for tonight through Tuesday. It's that time of year; "They" can't say whether it'll be rain or snow or petrified rabbit turds. We actually had a 50 degree day last week. Brought back fond memories. The front coming through (from Nony's neck of the woods perhaps?) is said to pack lightning and thunder, and maybe a downpour or two. With the frost down to 7 feet this year, none of that moisture is going to saturate.

An interesting week coming...

Heh, got online several times yesterday to check the radar...EVERY time I checked they had changed the forecast for the coming 12 hours, until they had all but completely left any rain/snow/thunder out. It's all hundreds of miles south and east of us.

Near 50 today is the latest, severe clear, severe sun, severe melting. "Maybe" a snow flurry tomorrow.

These guys are paid for this, in case anyone was wondering.  :eusa_think:

We were 60 sumtin yesterday, most of the snow has ran off with just a few mushy places.  Tonight we get anther winter blast, snow and 50 mph winds, but its definitely springing

Our second spring thaw has come to an end.

Wednesday, I was sweeping dust from the sidewalk ..........yesterday, I was shovelling snow!

I'd love to start feeling optimistic about actually having Spring this year, but it's the last week of March and we aren't out of February yet. Bee-low Zee-ro at night, bare teens during the days, bogus promises by the talking heads of "50's" within the week, then it starts all over again.

I actually like winter, but when they slap two together end on end... :eusa_wall:

Well we get both in the same day.  I hauled hay Sunday over night to Monday to CO. I was up and out at 5:30, and it wasn't bad. Like 30ish and dry, by 8:30 am visibility was down to 1/4 mile and snow piling up on the hay and hood of the truck and windy.  I had to wait in line to unload at the auction for 2 more hours.  I watched ambulances fly north and then come  back carrying the remnants of several crashes between Ft Collins and Cheyenne, and it was still snowing but getting wetter, I was starting to think it would turn to rain.  (None of which was called for just the night before.) But about when I got unloaded and had it tarped, the sun came out, by noon the roads were dry, and afternoon it was 45- 50 degrees sunny and calm at home.

I am more used to sun and warm in the morning and snow by afternoon kind of thing, that was a little weird. I'm blaming AL Gore.

I wish Al would come here and lay hand upon our weather. Global Warming is a joke, but one I wish were true...

The robins are back this morning. Temps are to be in the mid-high 40s...Then tomorrow;

The NWS says the snow totals will be on top of what falls as rain. We are in the NW corner of the 2nd county just east of Fargo. Storms like this happen every spring, no surprises. Except that our temps are 20 degrees below normal and when this kind of snow should melt within a day or two, it won't have any reason to.

With all the big snows falling through the Iowas, Nebraskas and such this winter, we've had very little compared. Our problem has been 30 below and sustained Wyoming windspeeds consistently since December. The misery index is extra special high this year, to the point folks actually believe there will be no summer...

Its definitely springing here, had 70 yesterday,  other than being breezy it was pretty nice the last few days.  Last night however the wind came in from a cold front and just roared all night, with a snow shower, windchill is back down 15 degrees or so, that's hard to take after 70 and calm.  :disgust:

Its been an odd year for birds, we had robins a month ago, saw a meadowlark a couple days go and we have had more Geese and Cranes than I have ever seen up here, one field about a mile away was so packed with geese and so noisy you had to speak loud in our yard to hear each other, it was crazy.

Air conditioning has been running, got up to 87 a few days ago.  No snow, but there are piles of yellow pine pollen everywhere.  It's raining right now....

Yesterday, I saw 4 motorcycles, a small flock of geese, and a bicycle...... Could it be....?

balsum fractus

Nope.....winter is back!

6" dump of snow overnight

:sadness:

Onepoint

Heh,    But we did have 4" of snow last weekend,  however I think we are done with snow for the year pretty much.   We hit about 80 yesterday, thought I was going to melt.

balsum fractus

Lesseee...today we had clouds, then sun, then rain, then wind, then heavy rain, then hail, followed by blue skies and sunshine.....

I think we hit all four seasons if you count the snow two days ago.....

Onepoint

We had warm and clear with a good chance of sunburn.   :)
