Winter here had a chilly start, but we've been having a lot of 30+ weather lately, and I'll gleefully take it. There's not but an inch of snow on the ground, if the temps go sub zero long enough without a good two foot blanket of the white stuff, there will be great wailing and gnashing of teeth for the frozen pipes.

But they're claiming warmness into Feb and perhaps beyond, and we deserve a mild one after last year...

Well after about a week of beautiful weather, the clouds rolled back in, 2.4 inches of rain since noon yesterday.  Weather forecasters are saying it is going to change to snow this afternoon with 4 inches possible. :eusa_wall:

Snow?  :eek5: I had to go look exactly where Baird is, I thought it was still pretty far south.   If it makes you feel any better, we are supposed to be in the 50s and 60s starting tomorrow for the next few days, which would feel like 80 for you guys to us.

We got a quarter inch of rain last night. Rain. Consider the part of Texas where I live, consider the average HIGH temp here this time of year (right below zero), and guess what a quarter inch of rain does...

...I gotta wonder what AlGore is gonna charge us for this...

Another week of cold and wet, which was not a bad thing since I've been in the bunker.  Sun is out today in time for the weekend.  Hope this is it for winter.  Anyone want to hunt some groundhog this year?   :disturbed:

Yep,  That's just wrong Nony.  Well we wound up with 2.8" of rain, and the snow didn't happen.  Bought a 300# steer last week to feed out.  Been researching some grass to plant for hay and grazing.  Think I have decided on WW. B-Dahl.  Eric have you ever heard of this up there?

Looks to be a really good dry land grass.  Guess we will see.

Okay, so I was out of bounds for a week......we came back to another spring thaw.  Water everywhere! My son a couple hunnert miles south has flowers blooming already.....they are doomed as February can be very wicked.

Nope that's a new one for me, it may be we are too high or cold for it here.   Looking it up, its a blue stem variety which should well with some rain so long as it doesn't soak it.  Some of the Bluestem we have are pretty stalky and tough, a lot like the intermediate and tall wheat grass that grows in the sub irrigated places.

Back on topic, it's January 26 and 40 degrees ABOVE zero here. It's not noon yet.

Mike did a round trip from the west coast to Mexico. He said the jet stream is absolutely stupid crazy.....they were in turbuience for the 5 hours down and 6 hours back.

No wonder the weather is acting strange

We finally got our thaw, 70 yesterday and today looks like, then back in the 50 and 30s by Saturday.

But yeah I have been watch the jet stream on the news , it is whacked.

Sorry Boston, I got no sympathy. This has been the mildest winter here in quite a few years; February 10 and I haven't had to pick up a snow shovel yet.

Good thing too; I can't get the cheap POS Chinese Honda clone in my snowblower to run...

It's snowing now, expecting around an inch if it doesn't change to rain later.

We are back in a winter wonderland......until thursday when it will all melt........then snow again next weekend.......
