Ugh, how long immobile? That means rehab, as if being hurt to start with wasn't enough.

stetto

Yep, rehab. At least I already know all the girls at rehab. At least ten days immobile, total six weeks lifting, pushing, supporting nothing, gradual increase from there.

It certainly isn't like losing a limb, but for three months it's gonna feel like it. I lose hunting seasons, hadn't gotten to putting up summer outdoor furniture and winterizing the house, still have taters and dry beans to bring in, I was given a 89 Ford Ranger 4x4 that needs a new throw out bearing, heck, what CAN a one armed guy do?

stetto

...and no guitar playing...

I would have said "no flying", but I haven't done any of that in over ten years anyway...probably ought to have a sale...

*edit* What clue do you see that the meds are working--on my fashion sense, anyway... :eusa_think:

Damn, Stetto, I disappear for a while and you go and do that to yourself.  Time to get yourself a bunch of Mexicans up there to get stuff done for you...   :icon_mrgreen:

Been pretty busy here.  The last of the kids is getting married at the end of the month, youngest grandbaby will be a year old in December,  our 33rd anniversary is the day after aforementioned wedding,  our company CEO got fired for bribing people in NY (after he made us all take anti-corruption training) and it's still too damn hot down here.  It's October, right?

Apart from the obvious, how is everyone?  Puddin Face grew up a bit while i was gone....

stetto

Jaime, you obviously aren't living right...you want life to slow down? Tear off a body part. I'm not even suppose to lift a cup of coffee (my doc changed my limitations after one day. I now lift nothing.). A buddy of mine, chief of police of the larger town south of us, called me just this morning to confirm the DON'T LIFT NUTHIN!!! advice. Exact same thing happened to him a year ago, and he re-ruptured his after only a week. He says the re-surgery is worse than the original. Makes one try to take it very, very easy.

Today the arm is so swollen that it's trying to bust through the bandages. I'm afraid to guess why, but the nurse sez not to worry. Life continues to race around me, but I'm at a virtual standstill. And yes, the PuddinFace is growing up right past me.

I did take myself off the meds yesterday; they made me feel wonderful----with a four alarm toothache in my arm. I was hoping for a different effect...

Heh, yeah its  October but you wouldn't now it, yet.  We re going to have a couple days here that are going to break record highs maybe.

We are always busy i guess, juts busy doing different stuff.  My wife decided she might have a free minute a day, so bought another milk cow thats due to freshen any day, then it will be milking morning and night.  I am still trying to wrap up haying for the year, got tons of fencing to do and and a zillion other things to do before it freezes, assuming its going to any time soon.

Can't imagine what you are going through Stetto, and really have no desire to find out. Hope you pull through this "discomfort" as quickly as possible.

Us, we are doing just fine. Our youngest just turned 29 last weekend. I am 20% retired now, with Fridays added to my weekend. Love the extra time to tackle the backlog of stuff that has been waiting for my attention. The bank account doesn't like it, but we'll make it work out. My wife is looking to do the same thing real soon...

It is been warm here too. I was mowing the lawn in my shirt-sleeves yesterday - on October 9th! Unheard of! Now we have a week of really windy weather (gusts up to 40 knots) to look forward to. But it is coming from the south, so that will keep things warm-ish for awhile....

stetto

Bring on warm-ish!!! 72 today, a promise of 80+ tomorrow, had! The things I could get done we're I not banging my stupid left hook...Still, the warm-ish is just fine with me.....

stetto

We saw 85 yesterday. I one-armed a few simpler weathering tasks with a caulking gun, we got the last of the chiles roasted and put up, then watched fall come screaming back in 45 mph gust.

High for today? 51...Welcome to Autumn...

jetmex

Ok, winter is here.  58 degrees this morning and I left my parka at home.  Should be a balmy 92 later today.....

Onepoint

32 here this morning, was 80 degrees yesterday, rinse and repeat that again today, welcome to fall.  Actually its one of the warmest driest falls we have had in long time.

stetto

Well, it's officially over. 22 degrees as I type this. Got 150 lbs of restaurant grade baking russets out of the ground two days ago, the shelling and dry beans are in, none left but to till...

jetmex

Winter is here.  60 degrees and fog this morning.  Hope the airshow this weekend doesn't get snowed out.....

How's the arm, Stetto?

How's the arm, Stetto?

Ow. They took the plaster splint off yesterday and started phys therapy. I now have tendonitis in every joint from my elbow to my fingertips. I had to go back onto the pain meds.

The good news is that I'll have my arm back in about three months...

The even better news is that my surgeon has offered to fill my deer tag next month, and I'm going to let him! :notworthy: :eusa_clap:

We are enjoying a second go riund of summer - still mowing grass, using the a/c, driving with the top down....

With the natural order and balance of things, we will pay for this in the future, but right now, everyone is enjoying it.
