A balmy 51 here...er...15. I've gotten into tropical hot peppers this year, but they need such a long growing season that I started them in November...They give me a reason to go on.

The bigger ones are Peruvian Aji Amarillos, the two smallish looking guys to the right are Trinidad Moruga Scorpions.

Tell you what,Roger, there's supposed to be one of those arctic cold fronts that Stetto is always talking about headed this way.  It's going to get down to the really low 60's tonight, so I may have to dig the parka back out.  This winter has been brutal...  :icon_mrgreen:  Hope it doesn't get too windy.  It might blow the rest of the leaves off the tree.

At least I won't have to mow the grass until next week.

....and how are the mosquitos this year?

Heh, yeah at least snow flies don't bite.

Quote....and how are the mosquitos this year?

Well, Nony, the little ones are about the size of a Cessna 172 and the big ones are C-130-ish give or take.  No one's drained their hot tubs yet, so there's lots of swanky places for them to breed!

It's only 68 degrees here right now.....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  :disturbed:

Hopefully you feed them well so there is no need for them to migrate north....

We had a cold front come through yesterday.  54 degrees and me without an engine block heater.....

Nony, if the temps here drop too much more, those mosquitoes will be heading your way looking for warmer weather!

Uhg, -21 this morning air temp, no breeze thank God, but Laramie is -36, and has a wind chill of -50 right now they just said on the radio.

Our Cheyenne radio had this story in their email, the headline is misleading, Russia still had the top 5 coldest sities in the world, but WY and CO had the next 5, and and thetemsp were as low as -36 in multiple places in WY  http://kgab.com/five-of-the-coldest-cities-in-the-world-right-now-are-in-wyoming.

This winter thing is highly over rated.  :errrr:

Sorry to hear. We were at -20 last night at about 10 o'clock, this morning at 6 am it was up to -9. We're on the warm up, may even have lows above zero within the next week.

As much as I'd like to complain about a rough winter, we've had a couple sweetheart winters in a row here, so this is what it is.

And I got the &$#*^%$%^$@ snowblower running good, first time in ten years. Just washed out the fuel tank... :sadness: :eusa_doh:

And it looks like I will NOT be going to AZ to drive a pickup home.

It was below zero until midday, then we got a "chinook" brought the airtemp up to single digits and windchill down to -15.  :eusa_wall:  Its cold enough it froze the pipes going out of the well house to the livestock, I thought I was going to have to get creative to get water to everything, but they finally thawed late this afternoon.  I managed to get the tractor going yesterday and baldes the yard, thankfully in time to have it drift shut now. :)  But there is light at the end of the tunnel, supposed to be 40s by sunday.

Well that sucks, not that I envy anyone driving this time of year,  but I was hoping you could get by this way.  But things happen for a reason, maybe this summer.

It is, shall-we-say, cool-ish here, but a massive cold air mass is s'posed to be sliding south next week. They say -40 will be on the warm side of what to expect.....

We started mapping a drive to Denver/CO Springs for the last week of May. Guess who's on that map..... :eusa_clap:

Nony, you keep that up, and I am going to have trump build a wall on the north border. :)

Snow in Charlotte.....19 degrees in Austin.......

Yup, global warming is here!

Down to 24 degrees last night at the house, it's 37 here at the airport now.  If the weather guessers are correct, we'll be back into the 70's by midweek and can go back to watching winter on the nightly news.
