No rain here, but it sure is hot.  Mid to upper 90s all week, no end in sight.  Hoping it might cool off a bit for the Bomber Field event this weekend, but I'm not holding my breath....

We went from triple digits to 30s for a high, and back to mid to high 90s for a couple days now again.   Supposed to move down into the 80s maybe 70s for the foreseeable, so I guess we get a reprieve from mother nature throwing darts at the weather wheel on the wall for now.

Looks like there's another hurricane coming our way.  Big temp drop today, only in the mid 70's and raining.  But the weather this weekend held long enough to get in another great Bomber Field event!

Its got to be getting soggy down along the gulf coast regions I imagine.  Complete opposite here.  At least we have seen the last of triple digits for the year. Actually has been fairly nice, it was windy yesterday, which ended a very rare period of no wind at all for several days.   The day before was so smoky  for a while I think the celling was low enough you would have lost a plane above roof height.

I suppose I should be thankful.  We took a drive over to the mountains, and that last snow broke a lot of limbs trees off, couple places looked like roads were blocked from downfall, but man was it dry over there as well, even after the snow which looked like made a mess of dirt roads and trees, it was dry as a bone again with a lot of springs and creeks dry that usually are lush and green until it freezes.  Might be a tough winter for wildlife even if winter is not that cold, there just isn't that much reserve feed with leaves falling off from being dry already and grass short and sparse.

What a coincidence--We had a 25-30 mph breeze all day yesterday as well...I smoked a slab of bacon in it.

But yeah, dry.

We've got a dose of a WY breeze today, mighty stiff. At least the temps behaving.

Seems we had a bear out back last night, the birdfeeders and sheperds hooks they were on were laid to waste. The dogs didn't make a peep.  :eusa_wall:

Wow, that's disconcerting to be sure.

We have only has an owl hanging around to pick off our young guineas. Just to note those hanging owls don't work on owls apparently.

But we are deep into drought, no rain since 1st of June but 2 measurable ones that added up to a about 1.3" in all that time between now and then.  Water holes, small ponds and springs are drying up I notice.  even the small creeks are just trickles.  If this doesn't turn around over the winter its going to be real serious come next spring.  Like dust bowl serious in some places.  Weather guessers say we are at an end of the 80s starting today, and 60s and 70s will prevail, but we dang near hit 90 day before yesterday. And no real wet in the works so far.

While WY hasn't had a lot of fires, the ones that have taken off are unstoppable, we have one on the CO border west of Laramie that is about 175k acres,  every time they think they can contain it the wind comes and jumps fire lines.   Smoke alternates from covering Northern Colorado to north of us, and gets thick as fog sometimes.  It is pretty cool that the water bombers are based in Cheyenne and you ogle them along the road, but not worth fire to se them here.

We hit 101 today, too stinking hot for the middle of October.  We did get some much needed rain about a month ago, 9.3 inches, been dry since then though.  High tomorrow supposed to be 78.

You haven't heard me complaining lately, because it has been pretty nice here since the labor day weekend...it had been a wet, soggy, and windy summer, so some mild, and dry weather was much appreciated. Got a bit of a deluge last night, and it is going down to freezing tonight.......

22 this morning. snow forecast next week (which means MAYBE-MIGHT-BUT DON"T COUNT ON IT).

All I know is there's a fat lady singin' somewhere out there....... :icon_cry:  :'( :icon_cry:  :'( :icon_cry:  :'(

55 degrees and rain this morning, a real cold front!  Well, sorta, because it's gone now and it will be in the 70's tomorrow.

Onepoint

70 today, after 21 last night, but dry, now they are saying we are going to be in drought all winter.  So there is hope, since they are hardly ever right.

stetto

Inch on the ground, looks to drizzle snow here all day.

A big sloppy, wet cold low system wandered in from the Pacific, sucking some frigid arctic air down from up north. Result, first snowfall of the year with about a 20 degree temperature drop........

Oh well, it will only last 6 months or so.........🥶

I don't know what's worse, dreading/being sick of winter, or hoping you have one.
