Dang Jaime, I'm watching some major lightning from my back porch. To the southeast of us, where (H)umble is! You be safe tonight!

All we got was another .10 of an inch.

We will,, Stetto, thanks.  It's raining here right now with lots of lightning, but not heavy rain.  The tornado watch was extended to 0300 tomorrow morning and then this should be past us.

Well that wasn't even funny at all, mother nature is not a good practical joker.  It was supposed to cool, like highs in the 40s, lows in the 20s until the weekend when its supposed to get cold, instead we are sitting at 6 degrees right now and a little breeze.  Maybe its just me, but there is a pretty big difference between 26 and 6.  :eusa_wall:

We have a niece and nephew that live in Cypress, she said the twister was very close to them.

C-c-c-c-c-cold tonight. Expecting a mild freeze tonight. My peppers are in the shed tonight, with fingers crossed.

No moisture beyond a pathetic drizzle....tonight.

Tonight, anyway....

Onepoint

We have not been so cold, missed all but one rain/ snow shower of the batch that went through the area and slammed Cheyenne and western NE a few days ago, but now the infamous WY wind shows up.  I mean its been breezy, like up to 35 mph gusts some days, but for the next couple days its going to be bad they say, already this morning clocked 40 mph one and you can hear it roaring outside.  They warned that the wind prone areas could see 85 mph gusts and the NWS said 100 mph would not surprise.  :eek5:  Not for us, but I would not be surprised to see some 60+ mph here at the house, and as dry as it is I suspect it's going to be brown day.

38 degrees here last night, but will be warming up to near 80 later in the week.  No appreciable rain, and the leaves haven't fallen off my tree yet.  I'll take that all day long.  Sure beats the hell out of that winter stuff they're having up north.

stetto

38° here as well. They predicted freeze temps but, again, missed the mark.

Jaime, how you rate 80s? We're to expect 70s and that's a good thing, but you guys get 80s? :eusa_think:

QuoteJaime, how you rate 80s?

It's one of the joys of living in a swamp.  Whenever the wind blows from the south, it brings the heat and humidity up from the Gulf.  Not nearly so much humidity this time of year!  But not so much fun during the summer....

Onepoint

This has been yet another odd year, middle of Dec and the temp at 5am is 51? yesterday was gorgeous, mid 60s sun blaring and nearly calm.  Makes it hard top get in the Christmas spirit.  But as always it never lasts.  Wind is supposed to make a comeback, more 60mph stuff they say, last time I nearly turned into a white haired gnome, still have the white hair to prove it.

jetmex

Cold snap here.  Last two nights right about freezing, but it's starting to warm up gradually.  They say we'll be back into the 70s during the day for the next 10 days, so no white Christmas!  :icon_mrgreen:  :icon_mrgreen:  Won't complain about that at all.  Thinking enchiladas for Christmas dinner this year...

wtxsflyr

Warm and dry forecasted for Christmas here.  Delia's tamales on the menu for us.

My peppers died alone and friendless in Pflugerville on Monday morning. We're here in Colorado Springs for a funeral, the whole week a total chaos of spontaneous crying, spontaneous laughing, drinking, drinking, drinking.

The ceremonies were unbelievably dignified and awe inspiring. The grieving process here is insane and perpetual. I'm going to visit a childhood best friend who has stage 4 bladder cancer and fighting to stay alive tomorrow morning. We leave for home and dead peppers Thursday, OH God thirty. Dylan flies down Saturday.

But like Jaime says, toasty for the foreseeable. Joy.

Onepoint

Sorry to hear that all stetto.

Looks like we will have a warm dry windy Christmas here as well if the forecast holds.

stetto

It's a Christmas miracle! I lost 1 (one) pepper plant!

Maybe a Texas freeze is different from every where else  :eusa_think:

We also had a half dozen packages on the porch since last Saturday THAT WERE STILL THERE LAST NIGHT!

The weather was 30° warmer than when we left the Springs, but a hella wind blew us all the way home. A friend in Divide CO was getting 124 mph gusts! Makes me wonder how the Buckaroo fared yesterday...?

Oh, and I'm really sorry Carl, we passed right through Abilene but we're on a mission to get home in a day, which we did. I'll get there soon enough!
