The new label I've been hearing is "super" el niño, AFAIC just another "scientific" word these weather people made up to promote credibility among themselves. We're in part of a natural cycle that's popular to blame on causes other than natural forces.

That said, we in the Luling area vascilate between hot and humid and hot and dry, though every morning is consistently foggy and dew saturated. When any big storms blow through we don't get what neighbors 20 miles in any direction are getting, my theory being that we're in a low spot between the San Marcos and the Plum rivers. When 3+ inches are forecast we get an inch, more often a tenth of one.

A series of hit-and-miss downpours are forecast for the end of this week, followed by 2 months of simply hot.

Gonna be fun  :disturbed:

I do try to send what precip mojo I can your way, Honcho. Hope it helps... :eusa_angel:

Been a hot humid last couple of days, and now it's thundering and lightning like crazy.  No rain yet, but the weather guessers say there will be some, though no one knows how much.  Big line of storms just went southwest of us, but all we got was wind and noise.

I'll send some rain mojo your way as well, Honcho...

Dang! Little to none forecast, we have 2" in the guage here...so far.

We have been getting thunderstorms, yesterday was a bust for storm chasers, there were some from OK up here predicting the apocalypse, but ended up with some clouds and wind was all for us, it all shifted north into from Lusk WY into South Dakota, and so far as I heard, nothing spectacular.

We did get a nice 1/2" the day before, while Torrington got tennis ball hail and east into NE got "land spouts" aka wussy tornadoes.  Another day of it, maybe 2 and then we heat up.

More rain.  About an inch in the last day or so and more on the way this afternoon and tomorrow.  Then we're supposed to start drying out.  It's 81 degrees and 162% humidity right now.  The sun breaks through every now and then and you can see the steam rising from all the roofs nearby.  Swamp living at its best!

We hit 100 yesterday, with a 25mph breeze, everything wilted, including me.

100°, sheesh!

It's that time I guess...we're getting consistent 90° here, with a 10th inch of dew every morning. This next week they're jacking it up to mid nineties, my first full summer in Tejas should be epic.

At least the cloud cover here is keeping the temps down, but the humidity is off the the charts.  It stayed dry enough today to get the yard done, but it's still pretty soupy on the east end of my back yard.  87 here right now.  Rain should be moving out and we'll be in the mid 90s next week.

We hit 101 for most of the afternoon yesterday, sun was intense.  We get a break now, today will be low 80s, maybe mid 90s tomorrow, then 80s for a while and chance of thunderstorms.

I cut about 5 acres of hay, made 1 1/2 round bales, had to rake 3 windrows together, and still was grinding it up rolling in the baler almost as fast as I was picking it up.  Not good.  Some will be better, but worrisome for sure.

Hit & miss t-storms today. First hit was a very quick 9/10s inch.

When the sun shines again they claim it'll feel like 103°.
