Yesterday day we were in the apopcoplype, apocolips danger zone for weather, rarely will we be in the yellow much less orange shaded areas of risk, but we were yesterday, all day they warned about supercells forming, grapefruit size hail, tornadoes, flash flooding in flood prone areas etc., we got a sprinkle from a couple passing storms and some wind. Not that I'm complaining, it just felt wrong yesterday, lot of damp energy in the air which tends not to work out well. Animals and people were being idiots all day.

Today. not forecasted at all, its raining, a slow set in rain, they are saying (for what that's worth) supposed to continue until afternoon, with a high of 66 and rain totals near an inch. Yesterday the forecast said near 80 and more severe storm chance.  I'll take the latter though, an inch of rain right now may not save us all, will certainly stretch pasture and ease the feed crunch.

Turned out they were right, more or less, we got 6/10 by 1 PM when it quit, but had a pretty big area of thunderstorms build up and rain just before dark and picked up another 3/10 or a little more, close enough to an inch for me, and no hail. Going to make a big difference on grass at least, and weeds of course.  Kind of sucks for all the guys who had hay down, and the places that flooded and hail that smashed windows and and roofs the other day, but right here is a godsend.

quick update from the great wet north.... I know it is boiling hot everywhere, but here since the end of May, it has been wet, wet, wet! Never seen so much rain...even had a flood in the basement!

Glad someone is getting rain, though everything in moderation eh? I thought I saw a big area in west Canada is in drought as well, but must be more north.  We are going to be near or over triple digits this week through next weekend, except for one day midweek we get to practice dodging hail and tornadoes apparently.

Pretty warm & hummid here, the coastal grass on the property ain't even slowing down tho. The boss is spraying weeds on the fence line this morning, we'll be stretching barbwire in a few days. Should be great fun...

Haven't seen 100° yet this summer, but it's coming.

Hot here, mid to upper 90s with the heat indexes over a hundred. It's been trying to thunderstorm the last few days, but all we get is dark clouds, thunder and lightning and then nothing happens.

Had a thunderstorm roll through and dump about .7 in 20 minutes, it was running down the driveway like a river, but I imagine the fields and pastures it never ran much at all, and no pelleted form with it either which is rare this time of year. Another day of severe chance, and a pleasant 86 then back in the oven. They are already talking monsoon pattern, but we'll see.

We are in EL Nino, which means for our region we break either way being on the line between being abnormally warm and dry and abnormally wet, normal simply doesn't exist for us I guess other than this is the normal of flip a coin forecasts. They are saying that we won't get as many tornadoes with this weather pattern, which I'm sure the people who have had several already this year are comforted by.

They're saying that about hurricanes here.  Supposedly we're not expecting any at all, which hasn't happened in quite a while.  Stay tuned...

Still hot here.  The thunderstorms will build up late afternoon, then fall apart after a spectacular light show and a lot of noise.  No rain, though.

Still hot here too. Unfortunately we're just on the outside edge of the usual dissipation boundary. We see them coming, but that's about all.

Expecting a change up this weekend, as per them what guess professionally...

It finally rained.  Got about an inch early this afternoon.  It cooled off a little, only 89 now.

And the power went out again.  Seems like every time it rains, it goes dark.  It used to be a bit of a joke, but it seems to be happening more frequently and no one seems to know why, least of all the damn power company.

Yeah what is it with this surface of the sun stuff.  I think my butt melted to the four wheeler seat yesterday. We ended up getting a full inch of rain the other day, made big difference in hay and hopefully pasture. but its drying up fast now with a hot wind yesterday in through the night.

CO has been getting brownouts so I hear from my cousin, I bet that green energy switch is really paying off now.

Thundering outside now, maybe it will rain?  We were in west Houston (Katy) yesterday for a friend's birthday and the rain was coming down sideways.  Not a drop here in beautiful downtown Uhhmmble...

Kind of a sloppy mess here the last few days, though there's a scant half inch in the guage so far. West of us are getting actual rain, virtually feet of it...but mid 70s in July is certainly welcome! Temps are due to ramp back up by Friday, same ol' for the duration. The PuddinFace has friends down from Minnesota this week, they're spending the week in Port Aransas. Hope they can stay dry and enjoy the beach.

More rain, total of about 3 1/2 inches over the last two days. It did drop the temps for a bit though, the high yesterday was 79.  Going to start getting hot again as the week progresses.
