Hey Texas, hide the good silver!

It looks like our Texas trip is being moved up to this Easter weekend. It coincides with MN spring break (of course, they can't in good conscience call it Easter break, now can they?), so the PuddinFace will miss the minimum of school (and fast pitch, of course).

So the plan is to drive down somewhere around the 24th/25th, spend a night in Pflugerville, then head to Port Aransas for some fresh seafood and toes in the Gulf. That's all I know for now, hope to find a way to hook up with both Jaime and Carl and the Missuses that weekend...Plans are created to be changed, I'll try to keep up as my darlin' bride changes them!

Carl, if you're on the way through, we'll have to coordinate so's you have time to light up that trailer-bound brisket griller!

Great news, Stetto!  Plfugerville is a lot closer to us than Port Aransas, so let me know how long you'll be there or if you'll be passing through Houston and we'll try to meet you somewhere.  And you're more than welcome to bunk with us if you need a place to stay.

Be careful, you might end up staying down here....  :icon_cool:

Sounds great,  let me know your route when you get it planned.  We live 9 miles south of I-20, about 30 miles east of Abilene, TX.  Just had a steer butchered so I have a fresh brisket in the freezer just waiting!

Carl, you're off our track a bit; we'll be on 35 from Topeka clear down to Austin. The best flights we could find were to Bush in Houston (from Minneapolis, 3.5 hour drive anyway), but at $500 a pop we thought we'd save a grand or so and rent a car and drive down. It's "only" 20 hours that way (with two women in the car? Su-u-u-u-u-re it is  :eusa_wall:)...

I'll post another detail or two as I get them, we seem to be travelling by the seat of our pants here...

Stetto, if I remember correctly, Roger is in Giddings, TX, which is on Hwy 290 about halfway between me (in Beautiful Downtown Humble) and Austin.

Now it looks like we'll be pulling out of the Tundra on the 23rd. Specifics are still sketchy, you guys might get notice too short to work with, but hey, a shot is a shot!

I was just reading a thread at the S&W forums where someone was asking about good digs in the Austin area. Some of the responses were spooky, especially regarding actually trying to drive on I35 in TX. I may have lived in a few overcrowded metropolises (metropoli?), but I've been in the sticks since 2002...Maybe someone should warn them... :disturbed:

I-35 isn't bad if you like driving 20mph in bumper to bumper traffic with a bunch of libtards on an interstate for extended periods of time.  If you get that far, be careful of the split near the state capitol and UT - it's a little weird.  Austin is one of those places that outgrew its road system years ago.

Are you planning to swing toward Houston?

stetto

You guys will reckonize me by my fotergraff.

It looks like our opportunity to hook up is going to be 3-27 to 3-28, which is excellent for Jaime. Terrin is more than willing to delay our departure if it means we can all meet up. I haven't done this kind of traveling in a long time, any suggestions where to meet that everyone can come?

Leave your brides at home at your peril. If Joyce, Pat and Billie Sue don't come I can't be responsible for my wife's frame of mind.... :icon_redface:

Oh hell, me.

Well, Stetto, it's easy for me however you want to do it.  Austin is about a three hour drive for me, even closer for Roger.  Pick a place and we'll find it.  If you want to come here, I can recommend all sorts of places.  You're all welcome for Sunday dinner at the house if that sounds good to you.

We're out in Florida with the grandbaby now, but I'll give you a call when we get back in a few days and we'll work something out.

We are in for the 27th.  3 hours for us also.  Just say where!

I wonder if Nony will be picking the Buckaroo up on his flight down with Sooper Pilot...Oh, and Frank is just a short right turn past the border, sooooooo.....

Onepoint

Heheh, sounds like fun, but I have to bring the cows since they are deciding to have babies right now, so tell him to bring the C-5.  :icon_biggrin:
