Anyone remember any of that airplane stuff?

Actually I was refering to the cheap chinese receivers....

I dabble in everything with wings, but prefer the larger stuff. Easier to see, and the generally fly better....but I will also bring along an eflite powered glider for some relaxing thermalling...whereas in olden days I would be at the field all day, now it is just for a couple of flights, then off to do something else. Now that the deck is finished, sitting with a Crown and 7, listening to tunes while watching a steak grill has some significant appeal.......

I prefer larger stuff too as far as flying, but there is the advantage to electrics when you can just throw one, a couple batteries and the tx on the ATV and go get a couple flights in.   Its been a long time since I have flown for even half a day long.

I kind of thought most receivers are Chinese anymore, like a lot of stuff, but there are licenced stuff, and knockoffs.

Sorry guys, but the memories that the smell of burning nitromethane conjure is what has always kept my interest in the hobby. A Cox PT-19 .049 control line given me on my 7th or 8th birthday (still have the engine) pops into my head with every whiff. The electrics don't even carry that ozone scent like the old 'lectric trains.

I do have an electric Lazer 3D kit I bought at a LHS fire sale about 15 years ago....it's still in the box. These little fat sausages that used to be fingers don't work so hot any more....

In fact, I have a half dozen unstarted kits sitting around, including the Mus-Yak.....

Oh I still have a love affair for the 4c on glow, but I have come around to the electrics, there is a draw to being able to just plug it in and punch the throttle and not worry about fueling or if its going to stumble, or in my case if the fuel has turned to toxic sludge.   I killed my poor Saito 150, fortunately there are a lot of gas replacements for that, but anything with the Saito 91s on them are not going to be touched until I have to mix my own fuel.

Went out and maidened the Tundra today.   I need to figure out mixing flap and elevator,  and reduce full flaps a bit but other than that I think this is going to be fun.   I'm soooo out of practice flying, pucker factor of 8 or so.

If memory serves (and there is no guarantee of that!), the 8103 has a menu function called "flap system" that lets you dial in elevator trim with flaps....not as slick a setup as the 9303/9503, but I believe it is there somewhere....

I still have two OS70's in flying condition, but they only get a couple of flights a year. Optimistically, I even bought a new jug of fuel this year...

Thanks guys.....she is a cutie for sure.  Happily, although both parents have heavy travel schedules, they are doing an excellent job raising her.

Huh...I just took a nostalgic trip to Tower Hobbies, or whatever Tower Hobbies has become...Amazing how many of the old Sig kits are still "available", if you're willing to tolerate the evil backorder...

It certainly did trip my trigger, maybe there's hope...

Sig, Brodak, and Balsa USA kits are still available......but that's it!

I never thought I would miss Great planes and Top flite kits because they dominated.  Now the market is dominated with foamies.
