Them what runs the third world airline I work for have now decided that in order to protect us from ourselves, we will have our temperatures taken each day before we report to work.

FWIW Jaime, Pink (the pop star) is recovering from this virus, and never had a fever..(interview with Ellen on you tube). So body temperature is not a reliable indicator.....y'know, just in case your bosses want to stay informed.......

Onepoint

I don't know what  is more disturbing, that we listening to Pink or any celebrity about anything anymore, or that nony is watching Ellen.  This lockdown thing is taking its toll on our sanity.

Just stumbled on it.....I used to listen to her 10 years ago.....now it is back to the 60's...😄

Yeah, Nony, I read that fever was not at all a good indicator, but I figure that some managing director of useless things in chicago figured it would keep the peasants from revolting and make it look like something was being done to "protect" us.  Now everyone looks at your badge to make sure you have the right colored sticker and I'm pretty sure there's a snitch hotline set up somewhere so they can rat on you if you don't.  All the masked ninjas in the terminal are going yards out of their way to go around you as if you're radioactive or affected with the plague.

I'm afraid I'm not very good at being confined either, but I usually don't see that many people anyway.  My weekly trip out to Hooks airport to do airplane stuff is my sanity maintenance and so far no one has bothered me about it.  But it is still unnerving seeing state troopers patrolling the terminal here at work.

That was quite enjoyable, Nony! I live 2 and a half hours from the Manitoba border and knew very little of this stuff. So you guys are a-ok regardless, then....

Obviously, a humorous look at life, although some of it might be stretched a wee bit.....🙄

Hope it brightened up your day a bit...

We are still stuck at home, although we can still go out for walks as long as we keep the magic 6' from anyone else. Some stores are still open, many are not. All indoor gathering places are closed (restaurants, hockey arenas, bars.....) But we are still on the edge of winter, so staying home is not a big deal........

OK here. Not much affecting us here as we 'social distance' as a matter of course. When I worked as a Network Engineer, I'd go into the office every six months whether I needed to or not. :)

On another not, don't be surprised to find a plethora of "national emergency" laws (totally unconstitutional) arise after this is over. We only think it's scary now.

Yeah Roger, I know. I've been explaining the "aftermath" and "down-the-road" scenario possibilities to people, but too many are mig welded to that gub'mint tit and don't think it'll effect them.

This isn't effecting you? I ask back....

I have to laugh, there is a name being made for all these people who demand you hide under rocks right now "quarantine Karens".    You even mention wanting to do  anything that is not akin to vampires hiding from the sun or you know, try and make a living again and it's, "You just want old people to die!"  "Money over people!" and "Compassion demands I sacrifice your lifestyle!"

I got a load of that from my brother in California when I called to wish him a happy birthday the other day.  Kinda expected it, he's a union teacher whose last rant to me was when they went on strike for a month to protest charter schools.

Our county "judge" (a 28 year old who isn't really a judge) issued a mandatory mask order a few days ago, complete with arrest threats and fines.  The local police union wasn't too happy about that and had no trouble telling her so:

First time in my life a union ever did something good for me!  :disturbed:

Heh, lots of people are telling the "leaders" to shove it.  The nanny statists have ran unchecked and they are loving this dictate from on high without question, but that's coming to an end.  When people start having to make food stretch because it's not going to be available consistently, there is going to be some serious pushback coming.

We are not under house arrest, but the dept of health has extended the "no social gathering" edict until the end of summer. They advised that all festivals, rodeos, concerts, etc be cancelled!

Onepoint

Yeah, so far they have not cancelled frontier days, but just down south of us the Greeley stampede  over the 4th of July has been, 1st time ever IIRC, Yellowstone will be open, but the lodge won't be, no summer baseball for the Legion teams which is big in our area.

I wonder how people are going to adapt to months of their 2 week lockdown.

Onepoint

Our governor has declared its safe to peek out some, they will allow barber shops and gyms to open with proper safe procedures.   Of course ABC is running stories about how the death count is way understated, despite them using almost every death aside from trauma in the stats.  If objective history is ever taught again, this will be be seen as the largest power grab by govt in history.  I am not a conspiracy guy, but you have to truly be in denial to not at the least question the actions we have taken and the reasoning of them.   :disgust:
