Hello Gang!

I had my last chemo treatment on Tuesday! Yippee! My doctor wants another PET scan in three weeks and the results from that will determine whether or not I will need radiation. That is the first time he has said that I may not need radiation. I was so pleased! So keep the healing thoughts and prayers coming. I will have to go on an anti-hormone drug for a few years as the tumor was estrogen/progesterone positive. Also will be getting the bone strengthening drug once a month for a while.

This is all great news! Thanks for your love and support! Hope you all are doing well!

Love to all!

Our internet went out for a couple days, great news to come back too!

Great, kiddo! See what I tol' ya about attitude?

...speaking of which...how is your left brain doing ??  (...or was it the right...??? ) :icon_biggrin:

stetto

Left, as in "left it...uh...Somewhere..."

Actually doing quite well, brain-wise. Physically I'm not so impressed, I can feel the prominences where they didn't quite line the puzzle piece of skull just right, and I can show you where the titanium screws are, if you want to feel my head.  :disturbed: They said they'd put four in, but I can "find" five. I think he stripped one, over-torqueing.

I got my driving priveledges back some time ago and have been off the Dilantin since, uh...Some time ago... :eusa_think:

My focus now is a buldging disc between C6 and C7 that began stoving me up 6 weeks ago. Shooting pain up the back of your arms can really slow you down... :eusa_wall:

Oh yeah, and at the risk of opening myself to the obvious, I still have a large "dead" spot on the top of my head, the perimeter of which itches no end...

jetmex

Are you sure the dead spot didn't encompass your entire head?   :icon_lol:

Sorry, Stetto, couldn't help myself....

Onepoint

Oh great, every time my head itches I am going to wonder if its dead. :sadness: Thanks a lot Stetto. :eusa_eh:   :icon_mrgreen:

Amen, sez the wife, who still needs a free laborer...The boy's only 12, and it's like pulling teeth to just get him to take out the garbage.

Hello Fubarians!

I got the results back today from the PET scan...not much change but it's definitely not worse. So the doc started me on the anti-hormone pill and said that I wouldn't need the radiation after all since I am not having any pain in the L-4 region. I don't have to have another blood test or PET scan for three months!! YiPPEEE!! There is something called a tumor marker that tells how much antigen (cancer cells) are in the blood. When I started blood tests in December my number was 807 (it should be around 40)...it has steadily gone down over the past few months...today it is 60. The chemo worked and the pills will starve what is left and shouldn't allow any more tumors to form. I am absolutely thrilled at this outcome.
Thanks to God, modern medicine and my praying army I am well on the road to recovery. I still have 5 years of this anti-hormone pill with it's own set of side effects but that's nothing compared to the chemo, little price to pay to stay cancer free.

I thank you for your love, prayers and support. Hoping to meet you all some day.

Love to all!
