Today has not been my best day... a series of stupid, minor oversights (totally preventable, I must add) has left me in serious need of some therapy...or something....

so let's set the scene...

We got home early from a weekend camping trip due to rain, and I wanted to dry the trailer awning off. So I run it out, and notice some crud on top that should be washed off. I sprayed it with some cleaner and went to get the hose. I screwed the spray wand on the hose, and somehow cracked the wand inside the plastic handle, soaking me with cold water...but, must carry on, so washed the top of the awning and decided to do the underneath while I am at it. Which means raising the awning. Now, instead of deploying the awning fully and completely using proven, established methods, I only raised it part way up. I FORGOT to loosen the locknut on one of the arms, and ripped a mounting bracket clear off the trailer. Ten minutes later,  I DID IT AGAIN! and ripped another mounting bracket out!!!!

Now while waiting for the canopy to dry off, I had topped up the oil in the lawn mower...and FORGOT to put the cap back on the jug of oil. The first item of camping gear that I brought into the garage, knocked the jug over, spilling oil all over the place. Of course I did not notice it and only found out when my daughter informed me about 15 minutes later!

Now, just minutes ago, I was removing a pizza from the toaster over. Simple, right? Take the pizza out and put it on the counter.... Well somehow I figured it was more important, (or efficient) to close the door on the toaster oven, with the boiling hot pizza in one hand, and tried to close the door with the other - which of course jammed against the sliding rack that was out in order to remove the pizza. Ignoring the hot pizza balanced on one hand, I gave the over door a mighty whack, which closed it , but also caused the pizza to start sliding off the plate it was on - in slow motion. I grabbed it with my now free hand forgetting about the molten hot cheese topping. My hand recoiled from the intense heat, but the cheese stuck to my hand and broke off a chunk of the crust as well. This threw the remaining pizza off balance, and over she went - but not quite.... I caught the pizza just as it was leaving the plate - only to watch all the toppings flow down the side of the cupboard and fridge and plop on the floor!  Our dinner tonight was a nicely warmed, and slightly broken pizza crust.

I'm going to crawl under a rock somewhere until this day is over.

* update: I forgot to mention  that I left the awning rod on the driveway and ran over it with the truck - twice! and bent it...... :icon_cry:

Heheh, sadly I have many more of those days than I have perfect ones.   But hey, at least both side of the canopy brackets match now.  :disturbed:
