Ha-a-a-a-a-a-ay! We're forecast to get out first thunder-boomers of the season tonight! 1 & a half inches "possible". Boy, could we use it!

Frazz and Honcho, hope you get yours too...

well....the cruelest practical joke came to bitter end this morning. Warm and sunny all week..people doing yard work..motorcycles and classic cars out jiy riding....the sound of lawnmowers in the background......alll those springtime things.

this morning - SNOW! Thick wet heavy stuff.  ycccch!

Onepoint

We have done alright lately considering, or I should say by contrast to last year.  We had that 20", a week later had another 5 or so its just drying up and they are calling from some more wet and cold stuff, possible 1/2" to 1" of moisture worth today into tomorrow.  I hate the cold and mud, but its been nice to see the ground stay put in the wind.

Ours last night was a false alarm--Oh, somebody got their rain, north and west of us. We got a lightning show at 2:33 am.

Anyone ever say "We could sure use the thunder..."? :disturbed:

Onepoint

We got one of those late spring snow storms, the kind where the snow is made of glue and lead. about 6" or so with a good rain  preceding it.  Can't even shovel the stuff, push it up to a 12" pile and its like pushing a block of concrete.  If you mange to get it lifted, it takes a chisel to get it off the shovel.

I love winter, have I mentioned that?   :icon_confused:

Hey, if it soaks into the dirt you'll have groundwater for a month! 'Nuff to grow you a good first cutting.  :eusa_think:

We dropped 15 degrees today, maybe tomorrow too. Then another springlike warmup--Some asshat said 91 degrees for next Tuesday...The rest of them say 79 (.9 even!).

Summer has arrived in our part of Texas.....!!

Looks like we skipped spring this year...temps up to 75 today and ro the coming week.....

Hopefully there is enough moisture in the ground to keep the wildfires to a minimum this year.....

Onepoint

We have been stumbling along, its been warm during the day, but freezing at night, got down to 20 night before last, that doesn't make things grow very well.

Warm dry winter, cool wet spring, I wonder how summer is going to go.

what's left?

torrid hot and humid, or glaciers....?

Hey...we got up to 86 today!!   That doesn't mean that we can't see a surprise snowfall between now and june, but it sure takes the sting out of 7 months of winter!!!

Onepoint

Well our l;ate winter has probably saved our asses up here, I was out plowing yesterday and it was damp all the way down even some mud in places.  Last year when I plowed this late it was dry all the way and coming out in blocks.

It may be all we get but at least we get a start.

balsum fractus

that didn't take long.......we got a fire ban already.......

I actually tilled the 8th acre yesterday. Ground was "moistish", but usually this time of year my tiller tines load up so bad I can't get through a row.

Getting a little nervous, especially considering that the garden had 4 feet of snow on it just a few weeks ago...

Full inch of rain yesterday. They predicted "maybe" hundreths of an inch. The leaf buds are finally opening and it looks like most of the trees in the grove have survived last years 6 inches of moisture.

We got chokecherry bushes filthy with black knot though. Just can't keep up with it.

Another inch last night. The town just west of us (about ten miles) got 7. Dumb luck.

Supposed to do this for the next couple days. Boy do we need it!
