Solid overcast right now except for the hole right above the house that the sun is shining through.  It's supposed to rain, but the weather guessers have been saying that for three days now and we haven't gotten a drop.

WE got whats left over from Texas and AZs storm, starting to feel fallish with cold drizzle and wind.

Pat was not terribly amused that the latest hurricane bore her name, even less so when the weather guessers here started referring to it as the Mexican Monster.  We're getting rain from it now.

Five and a half inches of rain last night, and a half inch so far today at the official Jetmex weather station/rock.  It's supposed to stop raining tomorrow...

Getting our first snowish-ness today. It's coming in a mix, scheduled to continue mixing through the night.

We came close yesterday, just some really cold drizzle in a shower that went by, but I notice the 70s are gone and the highs are 60s and 50s now

Ok you Texans, cool it with the Even More Flooding stuff. The pics I'm seeing are scary.

Four and a half more inches of rain here at the house today, and we didn't get the worst of it.  Austin and San Antonio got hit pretty hard and the southern parts of Houston are submerged as well.  It's still drizzling here right now, but hopefully this has passed and that will be about it for the rain for a while.

Well we finally got our 1st real snow.  Unfortunately not the quiet peaceful pretty stuff that piles up and looks like a post card picture, but the sharp, cold and moving stuff.  So winter isn't coming, its here.  :P

...And us today, except we're getting the quiet peaceful pretty stuff. It's supposed to be blasting with wind, but not so much. I doubt we get an inch, and that won't stay long.

We have friends with big hearts up here: The surgeon who did my arm got his doe the first night of MN deer-rifle, and plans to harvest one for us this weekend. We're letting him hunt the woods I usually hunt, so the venison should taste the same....uh, right? :disturbed:
My buddy the butcher found out about my injury, and since he has six kids who ALL hunt and ALL filled their tags called the other night to tell me there were two nice does with my name on them hanging in his cooler. With friends like these we'll never starve...Though it really isn't the same as taking my own...

They are saying that we will have our first freeze of year Sunday morning, supposed to get to 28,  pretty big difference from the low 60's high 50's we have been having. Have received a little over 11" of rain in the last 4 weeks.  That brings our total for the year to 55.6" for the year.  Our yearly average is usually 25-28".

Wow, thats a lot.  We started out pretty wet, but ended up dry.  Temps have been getting cooler every week despite the record or near record highs recently. We had a 11 degree low yesterday, and supposed to be single digits tonight with a high this afternoon in the 20s.  Really could have used some wet with all the warm earlier this fall.

So far, winter has not really arrived yet...a few temporary sprinkles of snow, but temperatures still pretty much above freezing ( just....)...

But it has been windy! 20 to 40 knot gusts from every compass point the whole month......

Onepoint

Yeah we had some wind even by WY standards, they reported a gust of 104 up north somewhere, and we had some 85 or so locally.  We also got down to nothin last night after light snow all day.  Defintely time to put away the Tshirts and flip flops.
