 sounds like a convection oven....

We actually had no rain yesterday. Figures, I spent most of it redirecting the sump.

3% humidity...wow. We might get around 10% in February when it's 40 below, but in the summer? That's mummification weather!! :eek5:

Forecast said today would be the driest day of the week just two days ago....this morning? 100% chance. But it's a low-accumulation drizzle, for now. Sump is running every 32 seconds and I have a floor drain backing up regardless, and it's only 2 feet from the sump tub.

OK, I take back the drizzly part. Set in rain, over 3 quarter inch so far, puts us over 8 inches since Friday.

Very nasty storm through northern mn last night. Power still off after 7 am. Sun's gonna light her up again today.

stetto

I guess we're victims of a major. Power went out at midnight, right now (1:00 pm) we're told to not expect powered restored for up to three days. And us with 3 freezers full of meat. :eusa_wall:

Who wants to come for barbecue?

After a VERY WET spring, we are bone dry. Two inch (that's 2") cracks in the soil. Haven't seen temps below 100 for quite a while now. We have to give the chickens ice water but the are still laying hard-boiled eggs. Have to get to the popped corn early in the morning, before it's all shriveled up. Can't put butter on it as the temp goes above the smoke point.

Heh, yeah its been warms here too, at least a couple days we pegged 106, and several triple digit days in a row.  What little rain we have had from any thunderstorms is gone in a day.  Could be worse, north just a couple hours they are in a full blown drought, already feeding because pastures are gone.  I am as well between the dry and the grass hoppers, the only difference is I have irrigation water and hay, they are having to go find hay elsewhere because nothing grew this year.  Going to be tough year for those guys with falling cattle price and this.

Whoa Roger, no butter? I bet laying a brisket on the hood of your car cooks it up just right, eh?

We very rarely see anything over 100° here, but when it gets in the high 90s the wind quits and our humidity hovers around 90%. Then the violent stuff comes through and knocks our lights out. Speaking of which, our power was restored sometime last night. This morning they're forecasting violent weather for tonight.

Not to rub it in, but we are greener than green up in our little corner of Texas. Y'all are still invited for that barbecue.... :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:

After reading the posts above, I have nothing to complain (or brag) about... We get a bit of sun and our daily thunder shower.... It is wetter and cooler than normal, but the grass loves it! We cutting every couple of days...

Stetto, 0nly 90% humidity. I'm envious. probably could do a brisket but, unfortunately, beef (and other red meat) is off my menu since my operation. BTW, I'm down about 115 pounds.

Dang, you were looking pretty good when we met up in March! Joyce is gonna need to put a bell on you just to keep track.

Another half inch of rain last night. I picked 5 quarts of choke cherries this morning to make a little jelly, it's a couple weeks early but all this rain and an early warm spring makes the cherries plump and full of pectin. I'll leave the rest of them on the Bush for another week. It's going to be a good harvest if I can keep the chipmunks down.

The Temps are mediating into the high 70s for now, the garden is showing signs of good growth, if weed generation is any indication... :disturbed: :eusa_doh:

Anybody got a good eggplant recipe?

70s, I remember those, we were in the mid to high 80s yesterday, even had a thunderstorm give us a 1/10 inch of rain, felt like spring.  Today back to mid to high 90s.

5+ inches of rain last night.....4 miles south of us. Our guage shows 3/4" this morning.
