We got that much yesterday afternoon thanks to a surprise thunderstorm....had about a foot of standing water in the parking lot for a couple of hours....lots of flooding in low areas and underpasses. Yet 10 minutes away in any direction, got nothing!

We are getting out turn at severe weather, we had a T storm roll through day before yesterday and gave us  3/20, but yesterday we dodged a major bullet, twice.  I had to go to Sidney NE, got the warnings on the phone could see the big nasty cell, it was actually pretty as I drove around the northern edge as it moved south, but it hammered Pine Bluffs WY, major hail damage to houses with golf ball size hail driven by 50 mph wind, high winds even pushing over some big trees and knocked power out for a few hours along with street flooding.

Later after I got home,  and it got dark another big cell developed northwest of Torrington and made a straight path southeast hitting Lingle, Huntley and headed for us, but swerved west before it got us and then continued southeast across the border into NE wreaking devastation with tennis ball size hail.  Who ever was looking out for us cannot be thanked enough.

Wow, I remember Huntley. Just a turn in the road and a big brick abandoned school building, right?

Onepoint

Yep, just a couple houses and the old school.

Stetto,
Try allrecipes.com.

When I lived in AZ I went to a party hosted by one of the hoity toity country club chefs, and he served a veal parmigiano that I wound up pigging out on...the next day he told me it was eggplant.

THAT'S the recipe I want.

Dunno why I remember that so well, it's like a photo in my head....that building is just so out of place.

Hey, they just announced that the mosquito count up here is the highest seen since they started counting--120 years ago! They travel in large gangs and will jump people in the sunlight and drag them back into the shadows. Enough rain already!

Roger, looks can be yummy yet do not taste like meat.

True. I just happen to really like eggplant. Might just have to call 'em and hope he still works there. :). Good luck.

Heh heh, you might need a sentry on your mailbox in a few weeks....

So I went to town this morning to pick up some Off/Cutters/Repel and learned after an hour long search that there was a run on the stuff last week. There isn't a store in 50 miles that has a can.

We have a huge outdoor country music festival starting this next week, the venue is set in a swamp. 50,000 campers and no mosquito sauce. Ought to be entertaining.

Meanwhile I picked up some killer that goes on the garden hose. The family would like to get some use out of the fire pit this year....

Hunker again, Texas? Just saw a news report saying you were about to get another round of record dampness.

Don't become Louisiana.

Wow. Did we have a show last night. Only 2 and a half inches, but i could have read through an entire newspaper by the constant lightning.

We are shaping up to go into a drought here, minimal rain for the last couple weeks again, nothing to measure when it does, just enough to screw up hay.
