Only thing of note lately is I got bit on the finger by a spider. Taught me to wear gloves - duh.

Had a bit of a warm spell for two weeks, but winter is back. Snow, ice, and cold wind........not as cold as it was last month, but cold enough to get your attention...

We had a nice break for a bit as well, almost melted everything, some places were even dry in the yard, but we got another round of cold and that dang freezing rain/ drizzle, I got stuck on the flat with a tractor carrying a bale yesterday.  I thought I was going to have to get another tractor to pull me but dropped the bale and managed to get it to move past the slick spot. I hate that stuff.

finally re-sized a couple of pictures from a week ago.  This is what ice fog does to vegetation:

Heh, they just had a bunch of hoarfrost in Cheyenne the last couple days, sure is pretty.  We just got ice this time around.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park
A period of very cold wind chills is expected.

Extreme cold temperatures are expected once again for much of Alberta as a cold arctic airmass lingers over the area.

This 30 below nonsense is wearing thin......

Onepoint

Yeah, we are slowly morphing into spring more than dead of winter, but cold is cold whether it's below zero or 40mph wind chills even if above zero.

To understand true love, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and then see which one is glad to see you when you come back

My daughter was laughing the other day about the lesson she tried to give to her pre-school class about winter.  How do you explain winter to a three year old in Houston who has never been through one, or describe that ssnnnnn.......ssssssss........snsnsssnnn....stuff?  Son David was in Colorado a few weeks ago and saw measurable amounts of sssssnnnn.....sssssssn.....white stuff on the ground for the first time in his life.  He's 21!  The grass is going green, the trees and azaleas are blooming and it was 86 degrees here today.  But there's a cold front on the way - down to 72 by the weekend.  BRRRRRRRRRRR......  :disturbed:
