As fun and relaxing as our week in Colorado was, our 8 hour visit with the Klers was more than the highlight for me. I could have made another week of it, but She Who Owns the Car has obligations with clients, so home we will go.

The list of Fubarians is not increasing, Artie Grabow, Big Mike, George Nichols deplete us by much. Another Gathering really should be considered before we get to where we all fit in a phone booth.

We talked, laughed, petted, petted, petted kitties and puppies and sheep and guinea hens and the PuddinFace chased a rabbit....and Eric & I got to spend some precious time on in-common interests. Vicki grilled the best cheeseburgers ever, we ate, then had to go. So dang short.

I plan to come back down this Fall, thanks Honcho and Vicki, you made the whole trip for me!

Did you remember the dog this time?

Onepoint

Hehe, he was reminded of that, I think its not something you do twice.  :icon_lol:  We had our hands full, so not a lot of pics of the fun stuff, just a mug shot.

We're in Mitchell SD tonight after stopping to look at granite presidents for a couple hours. Thanks for posting that pic Honcho, I don't have the technology-ical know how.

Should be home by noon tomorrow, will post another pic or two, there's a Cabelas literally out the back door of the hotel, AND a corn palace down the street. Might mess with our evile plan......

Hoo, ok, Day After. Got a huge night's sleep after mowing about 4 acres yesterday after getting back. Ten days of rain produces 7 inches of grass, just so you know...

Got up this morning and can't seem to walk in a straight line, my balance is messed up. I be thinkin' that all that up and downing we did last week through the Rockies, Wyoming and Black Hills has not served my ears well. Terrin isn't as bad, but claims the same "dizziness".

Honcho, if you lived a hunnert miles more north we'd have had us a time! Square miles of prairie dog towns lining Hwy 85 just south of Newcastle, could see the little bastriges popping up and down, racing from hole to hole.

I'm really sad that we didn't get more pictures, but at least the camera was spared a ride on the bumper. Here is a shared history between my wife and the Klers: The Hawk Springs Post Office as it has been for a millennia...Terrin's grandmother was postmaster here in the 40s/50s (hint: look for the green building)...Terrin sez the little dilapidated box next to it may actually have been the post office then.

If the kids weren't being such teenagers (they were at least consistent in that for the entire trip) I think there would be a lot more pics. I was way too involved spending time with friends I don't get to see but every 15 years to take many silly photographs...Not the wind is blowing so hard that my beard is swaying...

The Rushmore visit was really nice. Not a horde of people, a lot of Black Hills attractions weren't even open for business yet, so we had a couple hours to really soak up the place...

Earlier in the week we were in Colorado, meeting up with friends of T's and travelling the mountains. These folks are Harley drivers, very persuasive ones...It looks like T & I may look into a Lowrider next Spring.

Terrin attracts fauna. I knew she would...

The PuddinFace ain't no slouch either.

I got myself a world class dose of radiation poisoning, here is the view from the gurney they had me strapped to while the sun beat down (Honcho, this is a panoramic pic, it may need "fixed" to fit, My expertise is not in that area, or anywhere near that area). Yes, those are MY toes roasting at the bottom of the photo, there was a hot spring here that registered 187 degrees that I made the mistake of getting into later. ow

Oh, and not the best pic, but I purchased only one souvenir the entire trip.

The tall spooky lookin' guy holding that darling chunk of wood and electronics is a high school buddy of mine who I played in several bands with in my youth, he now manages a music store in CO Springs.

And of course the star of the entire trip was SHOPPING. Her is Terrin with her life-long best friend in the entire world Deidra, on their THIRD shopping spree, this one in Frisco CO. It snowed.

The PuddinFace in her element, 16th Street in downtown Denver. What a collection of carnival rejects walk those streeets!

Parting shot: Tough Guy on the Denver light rail....

No doubt more (and less) than anyone wanted to see, no, we didn't go flying, sad to say. I wish there was more time at the ranch to crash one or more of the Buckaroo's planes, but he MOVED THE HAY FEEDER!!!!! So it wouldn't have been as much fun anyway.

Like I said, my highlight was Wyoming, and Terrin did get to visit her mother's grave in Torrington before we left, one of the goals of her trip.

Overall it was very very satisfying, and if I get my balance back today I have more mowing to do, then put the corn and beans in...Back to the grind....

that is all

Onepoint

The hay feeder is still in time out.   :disturbed:

Looks like fun,  but I bet you were wiped out after.

Thanks fer sharin' yer visit with us less travelled people....

I'm up for another Fubar re-union, maybe next year....after a decade and a half, maybe we can set up rocking chairs on the porch and scare the neighborhood kids off the lawn......

I am in as well, would be good to see everyone again. Rocking chairs sounds like a good idea Nony!

Heheh, we will have the geriatric ward set up, so come on down!  :icon_biggrin:
