We had a total of 4+ inches last week, and are in a lull of precip, temporarily glad we aren't in SE Texas.

We had the single largest hatching of dragonflies in human history over the weekend. Never seen the likes of it...Not a mosquito to be bitten by.... :notworthy:

We had a string of wet 60 something days, had to run the wood stove for little bit the other day.  On top of that we had no internet for about 12 days or so, just got it back.   :sadness:

Don't worry, the world stopped for you    ...

Apparently not, I have missed most of the newest "for the children"  thing.   At least it  saved on duct tape.

Quotetemporarily glad we aren't in SE Texas.

11 inches of rain at the house in the past three days.  Looks like that is done, but now the heat is back with a vengeance.  94 right now with heat indexes in the low 100's because of the humidity.  All the mosquitoes are down here!

Onepoint

You can keep your tiny pet pterodactyls, we have had surprisingly few mosquitoes so far despite being wet, deer and horse flies have been trying to make up for it though.  Makes you look like one of those exotic dancers from India with all the arms flying around trying to keep them off.

The weather can't decide whats its doing this year, lots of bad thunderstorms, most have missed us thankfully, but 2 days ago we hit 107.toodamnhot,  then today I get up to 57 degrees with a high predicted in the low 70s.

stetto

Hot n muggy here too, 90s though, no hunnerts yet.

I planted corn way late, so I soaked it for a day and a half in fish fert before putting in the ground. It came up in two days. That's almost as fast as that GMO stuff they plant around here for the ethanol plants. I've seen that stuff come up THE NEXT DAY! :eek5:

It's raining.  You'd think by watching the weather guessers that the swamp was going to float away, but it stopped raining sooner than their predictions, so now they are scrambling to find something else to scare us to death with.  As usual, the lower parts of the city flooded, just like they have always done and will always do because all that water has to go somewhere.  I'm sure being halfway between two large rivers and the Gulf of Mexico doesn't help much.  My weather rock is swaying gently in the current, but as usual is 100% accurate.

So all the major 4th of July festivities got rained out, but the city of Houston is going to do their big fireworks display anyway.  Assuming they can get the fuses lit...  :icon_mrgreen:

We've been getting pretty regular doses of wet, not the Noah's Flood variety, but it's definitely wetter and greener than normal....then, ON the fourth of July, we were kept indoors for the bulk of it because the mosquitos came, all at once, and so thick that they didn't even keep to the shadows. As I type this there are more than a dozen rap-a-tap-tappin at the glass door on the other side of the office...in full sun.

Never seen so many here. Out in the jungles of northeast MN and the boundary waters, yes, but never here.

T wants to move. I want to go with her. It's like a Stephen King movie.... :o :wobble: :eusa_shifty: :o

HOt, cool, HOT, threats of oversize hail and twisty wind.   You would think its summer or something.   We have actually been lucky I guess,  just North in Torrington and east in Scottsbluff they had 2" of rain in an hour the other day,  Turned them into temporary Venice without all the cool architecture and culture.

Weather guessers are saying the daytime temps will be over 100 (without the heat index figured in) for the next few days.  Another balmy Texas summer...no mosquitoes, though.  They all went to live with Stetto!

Had a beautiful all day soaker yesterday, totaled about a half inch.

Today I can hardly breathe for the smoke. Apparently the Canucks are doing another uncontrolled burn up in Ontario....

Feels like an early Fall will be had this year. Chokecherries are 2 weeks early, blackbirds already grouping up.

Not August yet and I'm thinking snow fencing. What a year....
