We have had a warm spell, never got below freezing last night after being near mid 60 yesterday.

So much for our warm up.  Had to abort a trip to CO yesterday because the storm came a half day earlier than they said, and there was already over an inch of snow by the time we got to Hawk Springs by 8:30am. We turned around and went back home.  Woke up this morning to about 5" and -12, yesterday after noon we flirted with -20 wind chill.  Thankfully so far there has not been much wind.  Still not like the upper midwest and the arctic Canada gets, but still plenty too cold to be tolerated, especially after 60 just a few days ago.

6"...3-4 more by nightfall....-25 overnight...

This pic I took an hour after digging a path for the dogs to get out this morning....

The saving grace is that the wind is blowing @ 20mph...From the northwest, which is behind the shelter belt, least damaging re:drifting.

Yeah, Terrin may stay in Denver til Spring, what with my weather and hers....

Onepoint

Yeah we are just on the edge of that stuff, but its not moving anywhere -15 with no wind chill this morning.

That is our high for today.

I've been trying to talk myself into going back out in this, but I already know I'm going to fail at that, so I'm not trying very hard...

Huh? Wha--? What'd I miss?

I admit it's been a particularly miserable winter this year, I attribute mostly to my advancing agedness, but we've had 2-3 really nice years of weather here until last Spring & summer, when it stayed wet and cold.

So I figured we were due for a little Back to Normal....Doesn't mean I have to like it. Which I don't. But apparently I don't get a say....

Heh, well apparaently you do in regard to climate, all you have to do is give up using energy,  and the world will become the garden of eden again.   But just as a warning,  any attempt to separate me from the wood stove will impair their life and well being.
