A small prayer or a good thought, if you have one to spare...

I know that most, if not all of you have gone through this, I don't have one friend or acquaintance up here who hasn't...

My 89 year old dad was put into the hospice system last week with an untreatable cancer in his spine...He really appears some days to be going downhill way too fast.

It wouldn't be so rough if it weren't for the family dynamic: I have 3 brothers I can't stand and a sister who's been a lifeline for us, all swooping in like vultures, hovering over that poor old man, and I just can't be there to swing the torch back and forth to ward them off. Mom is acting so detached and unconcerned my head wants to burst. I know it's a denial thing, it's really hard to fathom...

We've always been a fair tight unit here at Fubar, thought you fellas deserved some warning that I won't likely be on my usually sharp, witty game...

This may affect my participation in a Gathering this summer, though I sincerely hope not.

You got it, Stetto.  Call or text or email or whatever if you need to unload.

Onepoint

You got both, having dealt with that stuff, its tough no matter how easy it should seem even without family 'dynamic'.  Sorry to hear you get to go through it now.

Prayers to you and your Dad, Stetto!

Been there, and it is not fun! Stay strong!

To understand true love, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and then see which one is glad to see you when you come back

Prayers brother,  we kind of went through the same thing when Billie Sue's mom passed.  Her oldest brother still will not speak to her.  Call me anytime.

Hey.

Dad passed on Friday afternoon. His pain is finally ended.

Taking care of him was rough and excruciating. Having to see him like that day after day is going to live with me for a long time.

My mother put on a shitshow to his last breath. If I can make it through the funeral without a public airing of her laundry, she will be very fortunate to never find herself in my presence again.

Thanks for your friendship, Fubarians.  Terrin & I cherish you all...

Our thoughts are with you, Eric.  Take care of your family and call if you need to.

Onepoint

Sorry to hear, but I know how that feels to finally have it over and not watch them suffer.   Bear up for the funeral etc, that's always fun too. AND hang in, it does get a little more tolerable in hindsight.

Sorry to hear that Stetto, but more sorry for the circumstances.....

Stay strong!
