The 2nd lieutenants are gradjiatin' today.

We had a B-2 flyover yesterday, low & slow, literally rattled windows.

The first A-10 I've ever seen (4 in formation) has been harassing the sky overhead all week.

F-16s and Chinooks have been up there too, and lo & behold, the AF Thunderbirds came in on Monday and practiced every day since.

Supposedly the actual show is today, about 5 miles north of me.

Not sure if my neck can take much more of this.

Time to sit up on the roof with a lawn chair, binoculars, and some cold ones and just enjoy the show!   :icon_mrgreen:

I live 5 miles from a major airport (IAH) and haven't seen a real airplane in quite a while...but there are two P-51's around the corner from the hangar at Hooks!

I found a nice perch on a ridge just north of us. It was neat, but they didn't do a lot of colored smoke. Maybe white smoke is traditional for virgin cadets(?).

My wife's office is DIRECTLY across the interstate from the Academy, and her corner office's (yeah, she brings it up a lot)  exterior walls are floor to ceiling glass. She literally had a skybox seat.

Lloyd Austin was there shaking hands, but I'm sure there was working brass there as well.

It was kind of a let-down: all the neat air machinery I got to see this week were nowhere to be seen today. Bummer.
