Honcho, do you have a Holley combobulator or an Edelbrock combobulator?  Makes a difference, you know... :icon_lol:  :icon_lol:

Knowing Honcho he has probably upgraded to the FItech injeculator!

Onepoint

Maybe that's the problem, its a Delta combobulator, and I should upgrade it to a FItech.  :eusa_doh:

We had a nature shock today, was only 60s for a high, 61 now in fact, and its kind of chilly compared to the 90s and hunnerds we had just the last few days. We did get a little rain, but not much.

Injeculators!  I forgot all about those!   :disturbed:

I don't know why we have weather forecasters here.  It's either hot and humid or hurricane and even I can tell the difference.  Mid to high 90s all week with a few 100 degree days thrown in just to break things up a little.

wtxsflyr

Every day this month except for have been over 100.  Forecast is for another week of triple digit temps.

Onepoint

We had the short shot of relief, but back to high 90s and triples for a little while now. Would have been nice to get some rain out that deal, but not for us this year I guess.

Onepoint

Finally we caught a real thunderstorm, about 3 pm had some heavy clouds roll over, could see it raining and lightening just north, then lightening hit here I watched one hit across the road about 300 yards out in the neighbors hay field, and another within seconds at the far end on the trees. Just a minute or 2 before that I heard the crack and flash and when I looked out saw smoke columns about a half mile west, but before I could worry much about it, came a deluge and put everything out.  Got 1.5" in about 20 minutes, actually had water standing everywhere.

Man we needed something like that in the worst way, rained hard, and no hail, but by dark very few puddles remained on everything, it soaked up like a sponge.

wtxsflyr

That is awesome....  We could sure use some around here.  It got up to 114 here today.  :eusa_wall:

Ugh, we are not anywhere near that, but been bouncing up close to triples the last several days, until yesterday, only got to 80, that with being damp and high clouds was nice for a change.  Of course always something to ruin it, a 200k acre  fire along with a couple other smaller ones around Gillette WY had us socked in with smoke.

I see Abilene getting a good shot right now, but Baird is looking to be a bridesmaid today, eh West Texas?

wtxsflyr

It made it here about 7:30,  lost power,  finally got it back on after 22 hours.  Thank goodness it only got to 105 today.  Got a solid 2 inches of rain out to that storm.

Onepoint

So how long does the wet last when it gets that hot? here even a couple inches of rain is gone in a week if it hot like that.

jetmex

We got a break.  After a week of 100+ degrees, we're now down to the mid 90s with a little less humidity.  Supposed to rain all next week, I'll believe it when it happens.

wtxsflyr

Really depends on the amount of sunshine and wind.  If the wind doesn't blow we will still be wet on the surface for a couple of days.  I have seen it rain 2 inches, then clear out, bright sunshine and 15-30 mph winds dry the surface in 4 hours.

Onepoint

We have sandy loam/  clay in low spots and for the most part, roads get get greasy slick when wet. Doesn't take too much to get that way, but dries up fairly fast if breezy.  A couple inches of rain would have water standing normally, years like this its like a sponge.  We had years when we had several inches of rain and every low spot is a pond or stream, but that happens so seldom it has to reshape the water ways to accommodate.
