We have gotten no rain, which is good since it seems its coming in pelleted form. 100 right now, probably tomorrow too, then a cools down to low 80s and 70s until next weekend.

Man did we get slammed last night, went to bed about 11 and a line of storms was bearing
  • down on us from the north west, but was still 80 miles out, but just in 30 minutes another line developed right on the WY/NE/CO border and quickly coalesced north up to us and gave us some rain and lightening as we turned out the lights.  Got jolted awake about an hour or so later by lightning that hot close somewhere and flashed rumbled and poured for about an hour or more.  Then this morning I look at my rain gauge and it shows 1.83". Don't know how much was hail;, there was a little in it at least. Its not light enough yet to go assess damage.

Wooohooo, we are getting some rain!  1st rain in 4 weeks.

Onepoint

Nothing for us, but considering the pelleted form everyone is getting this year it becomes a nail biter everytime the sky gets cloudy.  Kayla had a $8000 of damage on her car from a hail storm a few weeks ago.

Its been hot here for a week now, last couple days have been triple digits or close. But that's all going to change starting tomorrow, mid 80s, then 70 and I just saw the high for Monday is 69, and 70s and low 80s for the foreseeable after.

Already the days are shorter, the morning air feels different despite not being all that cool. Feels like Fall is on the way already.

Good rain here today. Right after mowing the back and getting introduced to the local fire ant collective it started booming and rain rain rain. After an hour of hard rain we look to be having a textbook all day soaker.

Likely to make mowing the front tomorrow a hazard pay situation.

But my pepper plants are thriving down here!

Lotsa lightning and thunder, but not much rain.  It poured for about three minutes yesterday afternoon, then the sun came out and the humidity went triple digits .  If you don't like the weather here, just wait a minute or two...

stetto

Finally got over 100° here, humidity floating around 30%. It actually felt ok, though I wasn't working in it.

I planted some Serrano peppers yesterday, being as the two Thai plants I brought down from Colorado have tripled in size in as many weeks.

Supposedly gonna get wet over the 3 day weekend, looking forward to it...

We finally got a little real rain after missing many of them, had a thunderstorm give 4/10s a couple days ago, then last night it built up right at dark over us and gave a nice rain of nearly an inch by this morning, it got kind of nasty as it rolled east, but we just got steady rain for a couple hours.  A little late but still welcome. Another chance today then we dry out which is good, time to knock more hay down.

They are predicting an early and wet fall, but they said something about that last year and ended up being warm dry and very windy.

stetto

Today and tomorrow in the triple digits  (they claim) then some hurricane in the Pacific is to shunt over most of Texas.

Sure, sure. The humidity was down near 20% yesterday, so I mowed. Sweat like a pig anyway. Yes, I need to sweat more, my girlish figure has been demanding it.🙄

Onepoint

We dried out again since the end of August, they predicted a day or 2 of rain over this weekend but so far have gotten a little over 1/10 is all. We'll see how the day goes.

The weather guy on the Austin Fox station is the glummest guy I've ever seen in that position. Yesterday he promised weeks of cloudless, rainless days of hot & dry.

...he was wrong about the clouds...

wtxsflyr

Yep, hot and dry here also.  The last two fronts that came through they claimed were going to saturate us with rain. We got a total of 2/10 from both of them combined.

stetto

Yet the Navajos are being hit with multiple tornadoes this weekend 🤔

You know, I'm willing to give "the end times approacheth" crowd an ear, if only this didn't reek of .gov diddling with our weather...

jetmex

Well, it's supposed to be fall today, but it's already 90 and on the way higher.  Been a little cooler in the mornings lately.  No rain for quite a while here, but the weather guessers keep teasing us with it and it rains everywhere but beautiful downtown Uhhmmble.  Wish I could get paid that much for being wrong most of the time!

Onepoint

Sad part is they are the most trustworthy part of the news anymore and wrong most of the time.

We are fallish, short days, showers about every 3rd day, and highs bouncing around 60 to 90.
