More flying

Got to do some more of that flying stuff on Tuesday.  Weather was nice and clear, but windy.  We went out to Northwest RC's field in west Houston, which I swear was about halfway to El Paso from my place.  Nice field, though.  They have a pond to fly float planes from, and half the fun is shooing the cows off the road that leads into the field as you drive in.

I flew the Corsair for the first time.  Another good solid airplane, only needed a click of up trim on the elevator, and no aileron trim at all.  It flew like a bigger airplane, similar to the PZ Wildcat.  She bounced around a little in the wind, though, as it doesn't weigh much.  The flight was fine until I landed.  I got too slow on approach and she dropped in from about three feet.  Broke the prop and a chunk out of the fuselage.  I'd have been ok if had carried a little more power, I actually had the airplane hovering above the runway for a few seconds.  Shoulda gone around....    But, being a beer cooler airplane, it only took ten minutes to repair once I got home.  Of course, I didn't have a spare prop, so I'll have to go to the hobby shop to get one.  Darn...
