Well it's just about done.

The 37 Ford that is.
Final cutting and buffing starts tomorrow after a second trip(waited 6 months for the first to gas off) to the paint booth for the final coats of clear (12 coats total @ 2 gallons)
The paint looks like it's a mile deep and just does some amazing things to the pearl and Ruby metalic if I say so myself.
Then I just need to install the running boards and detail it.
It will finally be making it to Autorama this year and the crews expectations are pretty lofty.



Al did a phenominal job on the interior, I'll post some pics of it later after we get it cleaned up.

It was a series of 6 coats of clear with block sanding after every 2 coats, let it gas off for 6 months, and repeat.
The pics above are before the final 6 coats!
I'll post some pics when she's completely done and ready to transport to the Autorama.

Wow, that is outstanding.  Lacquer makes paint into art like that, but what a lot of work, put on 12 coats buff off 6, but it looks like someone put a coat of glass on it.

It is gorgeous, but the practical side of me is asking..."how are you going to handle speed bumps?"

The front view really makes it look like a low rider but that was due to the camera angle.
Speed bumps could be problem especially on the running boards, but I installed a Air ride suspension in it.
It can be dropped to down for a 3" clearance, or you can raise it to a good 10" clearance with a push of a button in the interior.
The worst speed jumps I've ever seen were in Vegas namely the MGM. Even with the car pumped all the way, I would bet it would still hit thoses.
This car isn't going to be a Trailer Queen, it WILL be driven, quite a bit!
