We finally got some much needed rain, started Tuesday evening, rained most of the night, and finally stopped yesterday afternoon.  Got a total of 2.1".  Now the sauna will be fired up!!!

Low 40s this morning. Looks like an early Autumn.

I hope not, I am way late cutting some of this hay, almost sept and I am still dinking around on 2nd cutting.

Some of us didn't take Monday off.... :eusa_think:

I didn't either I baled hay while the moon was still partially covering.   :icon_biggrin:   Wouldn't you know though, we caught a thunderstorm with a good shower this afternoon, with a whole bunch of little bales sitting out in the field.

Looks like Jaime & Roger might be busy soon battening hatches and sealing their hulls. 30 inches in one storm? I'll wait here, thank you....

Onepoint

Hopefully they will miss the brunt.

Yep, there is a hurricane coming.  Not so much concerned about the winds here, but we're supposed to get a bunch of rain in the next few days.  What I am worried about is the damn thing looping around and coming back at us like Allison did a while back.  I am really happy though, that we are on what passes for high ground here (at a whopping 62 feet above sea level) and not further south where it floods on a regular basis.  Roger is west of us, not sure how bad it's forecast to get in his neck of the woods.

And I'm on vacation next week....   :disgust:

About the time I think I want to go where it is warm in the winter and see a bunch of water, something like Harvey makes me think high and dry kansas is not tooooooo bad :'(. I darent let my wife see that though :icon_lol:
To understand true love, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and then see which one is glad to see you when you come back

The plan is to escape east to Florida, assuming there is enough highway above water to do so.  If not, Pat is already making up the list, which hopefully I can put off until it stops raining sometime next week!

At work now.  We've been shut down for two hours already and no end in sight.  It's raining buckets.

We're doing pretty well. Only about 8 1/2 inches so far. A typical shower here. I think it might be a wee bit wet in the Houston area.

We have a crap-nasty fine mist drizzle going on here, all day style, may even get a half inch before it's over.

ALL my chores today are outside.

And no, you guys in southeast Tejas don't make me feel like a whiny baby, not even a little.

T. asked this morning, "Is this miserable stuff part of that storm?" I said yes.

Onepoint

I guess that one plus of being in the high and dry, its about 90 and and partly cloudy with puff ball clouds.  Of course the down side to being in high and dry is it is dry.

Still raining here.  I emptied the rain gauge in the back yard again this morning; it's full at 5 inches.  Emptied it last night when I got home from work, so we've had at least 10 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.  South Houston is pretty much under water again, but at least this time someone had the foresight to block off all the low lying underpasses around downtown.

And I'm really glad I'm not at work right now....
