Brrr....it has been cold, windy and snowy all week.......we are supposed to get rain tonight !!

Onepoint

There is a rumor its going to be 40 tomorrow.  But I know how the weather guessers just like to toy with emotions.  I just came back in from feeding, windchill is down to 5 or so.  It was warmer feeling when it was -5 and calm.

I don't know if it is just me........but 0 degrees seems a heckuva a lot colder now than when I was a kid !

Huh, my 89 year old dad tells me that I'm going to notice that when I reach your age....

It's been hovering between prettywarmforwinter and notthatcoldforwinter here the last week. Ice storm last night shut everything down in a 200 mile radius....

Heh, when I was about 13 years old, I went out and rode horses when it was windy and 20s in temps, I got cold but didn't seem to bother me that much.  Now if its below 40 I would probably be open to surgically melding the wood stove onto me.

First time for everything--There's a danged robin under the crabapple tree today. I've that a robin might stay through a mild winter, but have never seen it.

stetto

Yeah, mild winter. -25 two nights ago, -30 last night, our boy Dylan buried his Prius ina 6 inch snow berm and is now being buried further as a blizzard warning was just declared.

...I quit..........

Temps are all over the map here.....freezing cold with blowing snow, then a couple of days later it warms up enough to melt everything into brown mush, then freezes again.....oh yeah, it is windy too!

Onepoint

Sounds like us, probably with less snow.   You would think its winter or something.

This has been a windy winter, even for WY standard, we usually only get the real hard wind in spring and fall, but they had some 75mph gusts just to the west of us again yesterday.

I high-centered my pretty Ram 4x4 last night trying to get out of the driveway. 6 inches of snow, 35 mph wind, 4 foot drifts AND the pretty Ram 4x4 refused to go into 4x4. An hour and a half of shovels, cat litter and profanities later (at -17°F) the "auto" 4x4 finally engaged and I bulled my way through...but wait, it gets  BETTER...

The high temp tomorrow and Wednesday is forecast at -20°.

Then the kicker: Terrin is flying to Denver tomorrow morning....by herself. For a week. I will be here, trying to clean up the driveway....

Yes, I know the temperature in Denver, been hearing about it for a week.

Like I said....

No, I have more shovels than I can get anyone to use.

Ok, 3:30 pm, -28°. Terrins flight was cancelled 15 minutes before it was to take off, something about "too cold to de-ice", so I drove back to Fargo to get her.

And to think I was complaining about it being +21 night before last.  Supposed to be 70 on Friday!
