Pretty nasty weekend here, 12" on the ground, 8" more forecast...temps oscillating around 32°, windy but not legal blizzard windy. Hunkering in with Christmas leftovers, happy we don't have livestock.

They predicted widespread power outages, so far they've been wrong, yay.

...that is all....out.

Onepoint

Yeah, we have had about 8" that I can tell, had some wind, not as bad yet as last time, but definitely has piled up in places.  It was also hovering around freezing here until the snow moved out, now we are sitting at nuthin wind chill this morning, bleh.  :errrr:

First of all, it has been a remarkably mild winter so far.....we have maybe 6" of snow, and only reached zero once.....most of the time the temps are a couple of degrees below freezing...

Having said that, my ability to cope with "mild" yet cooler temperatures has noticeably diminished...
Some might attribute it to the aging process, however I prefer to think of it as a growing reluctance to leave the comfort of a nice warm fireplace........😁😏.

Out door obligations include daily walking the dog, moving snow around with my trusty, but under-powered snowblower, and a desire not to become a large round couch potato..........so bundle up, and outside we go!

I hear you there brother.

Its been a fairly hard winter here so far, lots of snow and wind, not the bitter cold thankfully except a few days, but still under average.  Makes me hold a grudge against winter.  I just hope it gets it out of its system before I have to worry about babies on the ground.

Well, winter arrived! Lots of snow and plummeting temperatures.....
Oh well, it's only for another two and a half months.......

Onepoint

I guess, we had winter clear up until late april last year.   :sadness:

jetmex

74 degrees and cloudy right now, but the weather guessers are predicting tornadic hurricane like winds and rain for tonight.  That's supposed to go on until early tomorrow, then it will be sunny and clear again.  So they say...

Yeah, you got NDSU playing their 8th FCS champeenship up in Frisco tomorrow. THAT explains your weather.

Us? We begin the annual Hover Below Zero celebrations, lasting into the question mark that is Spring...

Onepoint

We have been getting the turn you into a white haired gnome wind. So we either bounce around in the teens and 20s, or 30s maybe 40 with correlating wind to temps.  Apparently mother nature is obsessive compulsive and stand the unequal numbers or something.

jetmex

Well, the tornadic hurricane went north to turn Honcho into a white haired gnome, so all we got was about an inch of rain and a bunch of slightly embarrassed weather guessers.  Clear and sunny now, should be in the high 60's for the rest of the week.  What a difference 24 hours makes.  Now if it just stays this way for the rest of the year... :disturbed:

Anyone want to come up for a visit? We could play some fun games, such as:
Pin the icicle on the snowman;
Where's my nose?
Frozen fingers of doom?
And the ever popular "lick a metal signpost".......

Quote.   A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues.

Wind chill values of minus 40 or colder will continue through the coming week and into next weekend. Some brief improvement may occur during the afternoon hours.

As an Arctic airmass descends southward across Alberta this weekend, this extreme cold warning will continue to be expanded.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

What!? No takers??!  ⛄️☃️⛄️☃️

The whole neighborhood was out yesterday with snowblowers and shovels.....braving the -30ish temps to clear the overnight snowfall from driveways and sidewalks.....

This morning, after another overnight snowfall, and even colder temps.........everyone is staying in side!!🌨🌨🌨🌨

Onepoint

That sounds like a plan.  Itys actually not too bad temp wise, but sure is windy, even by WY standards.

stetto

Coupl'a inches last night, coupl'a more tonight, then Friday the Fear & Loathing in Fargo bunch is forecasting 12 to 18 inches.

And the whole time temps will flirt with miserable...

balsum fractus

"Miserable" got petrified frozen outside somewhere.....I expect to see liquid nitrogen falling from the sky at any moment....
