I was reading that a lot of the corporate trucks won't allow CB in them anymore, that was one thing that always was helpful in avoiding stuff like before.

A shame, truly.

And here's me, just happy to see the driveway again...

Mo' snow comin' fur us today, tommorra, the nex' day, an' da nex'.........

Onepoint

we have the 1st 70 day since late Oct, too easy to get used to.

About 12 years ago we got around 40 inches of snow in April. It came a foot or more at a time, every steenkin' weekend. It was way too nice for weeks prior...

Kind of like it's getting now....

This is what they are predicting!:

Quote.   Snowfall warning in effect for:

City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park
Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected.

A Pacific weather system developing over southern Alberta will bring 10-20 centimetres of snow to central and eastern Alberta beginning overnight tonight. The heaviest swath of snow is expected from Forestburg to Cold Lake. The City of Edmonton could see between 10-15 centimetres total, especially eastern portions of the city. The snow will taper off Sunday morning as the system moves into Saskatchewan.

Just as a translation courtesy to you southerners, that would be about 8" of snow.....

Pfffft.....I remember as a kid waking up to 2 or 3 feet of snow that fell overnight.....life still went on.....we still walked to school....dad still went to work.....

Onepoint

After being teased for a couple weeks with decent weather, we have blizzard warnings up.  Not looking forward to it.  4-8" with 50mph wind, No thanks!   :eusa_hand:

I may have calves during it,  hopefully they will hold off, but some are getting close.  Power companies in the area are already saying get ready for extended power outages. Combine that with the panic buying of people over the corona virus stuff, and stress level is through the roof around here.

Wish you well, Eric. That can't be fun.

Me, I gotta go to town for essentials. Haven't been there in over a week, the way the "media" talks it should be shuttered up and tumbleweeds rule the streets.

We can't seem to get much above freezing lately, the guy across the road finally cut corn yesterday, but because of snow in the fields his blades were set at hip high.

A couple 40+ degree days would serve to brighten my outlook...

Hope it is not as severe as they are predicting...

You ought to chaperone your lady cows a bit better so they don't get pregnant during the winter.🤣...

Hoping you guys still have your sanity because most of the world has lost theirs...I've given up on social media, TV, the news, etc until this thing blows over. Meanwhile, we can't go anywhere as all the fun places have been closed, it is still too cold to go outside, so just sitting around the house twiddling my thumbs.....

Heh heh, I'm taking glee in poking hoarders with a stick...Toilet paper's on the shopping list, but I have little optimism...

Onepoint

:icon_lol:  Mankind only evolved because of the invention of toilet paper by cavemen.

What gets me is they have shut down whole states instead of just areas of hot spots, the economy is going to free fall especially in the small towns.  CO has ordered all public places like bars, restaurants gyms etc closed to public for a month, in places where the infection is shown that's probably prudent, but in remote small towns 400 miles away and off any major thoroughfares,  it's going to be devastating.  But that is govt SOP, one size fits all, and if it doesn't they will make sure it will fit by force.

Well thankfully as blizzards go, it was pretty mild and short.   Snowed hard for about 7 hours or so, got about 6", breezy but not 50 mph like they were predicting, and the snow was wet and heavy enough it drifted a little but nothing to block anything.  East of us wasn't so lucky.

Of course I had a cow that couldn't wait, calved the evening before, but we got her in before it got bad. Have a bunch that are close, so they will be dumping them in snow which is always fun.  :disgust:

I've never been in a grocery store after being ransacked by looters, but this last trip to town has whatever faith I might have kidded myself into having about human superiority over the beasts and lesser creatures of the earth all gone now.

The obvious was an empty aisle, and the stock clerk told me that "they" know the truck schedules and barrel in just in time and in appropriate numbers to keep those shelves empty. Limits apparently have been defeated by stealthing family members in one at a time, each grabbing the limit "per person". For these "people" there is apparently no such thing as enough TP...

...or eggs...or bread...or flour...pasta...dried beans...canned goods...butter...frozen potatoes, bread doughs, and pizza...etc....

And every "special" and discount was unspecialed and marked back up.

It was remarkably quiet and easily navigated, but that was because the last truck had been in the day before. Store employees were leary of everyone, and I don't blame them; the truth of how base the human animal will go as fast as they have is in full display.

At least my meat guy still loves me. He puts stuff aside for us...I keep thinkin' it's time for a trip to Baird for some pork, before some knowitall bureacrat talks the guy in charge into closing interstate travel...
