About now I would take it, we are going to get a couple low 20s for highs about Sunday and Monday, near zero lows, but they are not talking much  with it besides wind and  "chance of snow".  I don't know what's worse,  waiting for it to snow and it doesn't, or dreading it going to make up for it in one shot.

Our clowns are saying that right now our weather is coming by way of Colorado. That be true you should have a good 5" of snow now, with upwards of 10 more coming today.

I don't know what's more entertaining; a "weather man" who can't guess the right forecast from a bagful of computer models, or a "weather man" who can't guess the right forecast from a bagful of computer models OR read a flippin' map...

I left a LOT of stuff undone outside, including a 45 gallon rain barrel still plumb full that I was supposed to drain and put up. It's now solid and just going to be there till Spring, unless we get a real indian summer, which doesn't appear to be in the brochure this year...

But we have a 450 lb sow black bear with "maybe" a cub in tow scrounging the neighborhood, most neighbors have requested a nuisance permit. She's already tore up our feeders, haven't seen her since. Still, the dogs are old and slow and as stupid as they were as pups, so I've been going out with them after dark, just in case.

Egad Nony! Our meat freezers are in the garage, with only a door to deter them! I can just see setting a grid up and then forget it's on one night when I go out barefoot for a roast.... :eek5: :disturbed:

Look at the bright side - It would remind you to wear boots in the winter!😄

Not really, at least not where I am.  Got about a half inch a few days ago and some drizzle yesterday, but that's about it.  It was in the low 50's this morning, with a 15 kt wind from the north dropping the wind chills into the high 40's.  Went to the local RC club's warbird fly-in this morning and it was cold!  I think it limited the attendance a bit, but the sun came out after lunch and we're in the 60's now.

I was watching the race in Baytown, and they got soaked when that front went through......

It was funny seeing everyone bundled up with coats on.......that is shorts and T-shirt weather for us! 😄

Tired of summer? no problem, its gone.   Woke up this morning to about 5 or 6", still snowing, and wind blowing it around, 13 degrees which is supposed to be about our high today with around a 5 degree wind chill.  Supposed to bottom out -6 or something tomorrow night.  Has anyone figured out the weather controls yet, I would like to shut this thing off.

What? You don't like freeze dried moisture???

Onepoint

About as much as  like freeze dried icecream.  Rarely and even then only when desperate.

Nothing like going from August to Jan in 2 weeks.  -8 this morning, we also got over a foot of snow over the weekend days.  The moisture is welcome, the cold isn't so much.  At least it has put a blanket over the fires and helped at least stop them from running wild.  But man is it going to be a tough winter for a lot of critters, wild and domestic.

Yeah, we get AgDay in the mornings, they're getting a little drama queen about it, but I do feel your pain. Supposed to be a light "warm-up" here for the next week, into the 40s, but the swift onset of winter had the local farmers scrambling to cut soy & corn. Sugar beets got burned last year, so few planted it this year to get the market back, but they usually pull beets starting Oct 1, lasting into November some years...Not this year.

We ended up with a little over a foot, about twice what they predicted,   the corn will likely dry out if it didn't fall over, but the hay is all done now.  The -10 yesterday morning by the time the sun came up didn't really help much of anything either.
